Comments (14)Westbourne Homestead is very pretty, but, so is the yellow one, too.I have found out just how hard it is to get rid of Morning Glories.I planted some purple ones about 4 years ago so they would grow up and down my fence out front. When I found out how they wouldn't stay on the fence and was growng up and down my roses, and anything else I didnt want them on,I started pulling them off the fence, and pulled up every one I seen, and I steadly been pulling them up for about 4 yrs and they are still trying to take over everything they get close to..I even sprayed some ROUNDUP BRUSH KILLER on them last year and thought now they wont be back.WRONG, they are still popping up every where. Jean...See MoreGot a few blooming (finally)
Comments (15)Alexa Gold Standard (hosta) sounds right--rings a bell. Didn't know I had such a rare hosta ("healthy"). This spring it had grown so large that I actually dug up about 1/4 of it but could find no one who wanted the extra parts, so threw them away. Just wait til I tell my neighbors what a rarity they passed up. LOL Thank you, everyone, for your kind comments. And Harry, I'd love to sit in the chair on your patio and just gaze a lot. Gazing is my favorite rose activity. Kate...See MoreGot a few blooms and pics of the new chickies!
Comments (35)Little Red Hen did live a long and happy life... She was so tame, and that was the reason she didn't try to get away when I held her. She never pecked me. Just a really neat pet. One of so, so many that I had. Aside from the many cats and a dog, we had jack rabbits, gophers, and a fox... all bottle fed because they had been rescued by my dad when he plowed the fields in spring. He might plow up a burrow with babies, and then his soft heart made him bring them home. We had a baby doll bottle that we fed them with until they were big enough to release. The problem was, they would all hang around the farm afterwards. The fox was so afraid of thunder storms that he would chew a hole in the screen door and run into the bedroom and hide in my Dad's sheepskin slippers. And our big German Shepherd was afraid of him. Oh, my, I could go on forever with all the stories of living on the farm. Rebecca...See MoreSara-Ann Z6B OK
