Do I need a new gateway?

I have a ATT Uverse gateway 5031NV. Several years old. Nearly every time I come back to use a browser I get "Server not found". Sometimes it takes 15 Try Agains to bring a site up. I unplug and reboot so many times..... Is there a fix or do I buy a new gateway? Using W 10.

What is it that you are Unplugging and Rebooting? Is it the Computer, Gateway/Router or Both? I'd try and Unplug the Gateway/Router for about 30 seconds, plug it back in and see how long you stay connected. If the Gateway/Router Reboot doesn't last long, it may be time for a New Gateway/Router!

To figure out what the problem might be it's helpful to try an eliminate sources of trouble (or see if the repeats with different equipment). How are you connecting to the residential gateway ("RG" in Uverse speak)? WiFi or Ethernet cable? If WiFi, have you tried a cable to see if that eliminates the problem? Does the problem occur if you use your computer at another location (friend's house, for example). Does the problem occur with other devices like a phone or tablet using WiFi on your home network? If you're using an Ethernet cable, have you tried a new cable or using WiFi?

We have not experienced scratching with our GE smooth top. However, it is not the white, and is the speckled grey/black finish, so perhaps we just do not see the scratches. Use a razor blade and CeramaBright to clean. The key to smooth top cookware is a very flat machined bottom -- and smooth to avoid scratches. Aluminum or copper bottom is likely going to be less abrasive. And the cookware flat surface has to match the diameter of the element used. No use in putting a small diameter on a large element, or the element will just cut back in output. In other words a large diameter high output element is useless unless you use a matching diameter pan.

It says it needs VGA video drivers but the screen is fine to me. That's because it's not in VGA mode, the only time it uses VGA mode is at the very beginning of boot at the splash screen for instance, before the on- board or video card driver is loaded. The VGA Driver is also loaded in Safe Mode and needed there to see.

back when i worked for a roofiing company we always felt papered before putting on the new layer. we tried to never have more than one layer of shingles, but some people just refused to do a tear off. the felt was not for heat protection, but just an extra layer of waterproofing. as to heat destroying shingles, i don't know what area of the country you are in, but in my area you HAVE to vent the attics cause the heat build up will make the tar on the shingles just let go and soon none are stuck together. my attic was unvented when i bought the house, and the shingles were all unstuck from the one below them. i have spent many hours up there with roofing caulk sticking them back together to last a couple more years until i can afford to re-roof.

truly, I should talk with ATT first, I know - I was just disgusted yesterday. It's the gateway router that I unplug and plug in again. Thanks - I will call att.
