Help deciding on Appliances for a new custom modern home
Comments (0)We are shopping for appliances for our new home we are building. Style is contemporary/modern. Looking at doing white high gloss kitchen cabinets. Total budget $15,000-ish. Need advice on best brand and or model for the following: Duel fuel 30" range - would like double oven but not deal breaker, if single oven I don't want convection. Considering GQ Cafe C2S950P2MS1 $3599. Refrigerator 36" we'd prefer to have a side by side. Important features - keeps produce fresh, dependability, we will not have the ice turned on so this is not a factor. Sales guy recommended the Liebherr which was actually a double bottom freezer which I liked because it would allow food to be organized a little better but after reviewing I don't want to go with this brand. I've had a friend recommend the KitchenAid pro line. Dishwasher Miele Microwave - I like Sharp. Will be mounting in the cabinet but do not want a true cabinet pullout style. Any input is welcomed and appreciated!...See MoreNew home build kitchen appliances-guidance needed
Comments (6)@Jack Greene - A spread sheet is great. It will let you know how much extra it will cost if you go with the Wolf. Fisher and Paykel also make a 36 inch induction range. I don't know the quality of F&P, and don't know if the looks would go with your space, but it could be another option. Bosch double ovens retail from $2800 - $3200, with the Benchmark series running $4200. Of course, you have your discount so only you know the cost of the ovens. Then the cabinet and perhaps extra electrical for the double ovens come into play. In addition, there may be a functional advantage in your layout for a single range vs. double ovens. If needing help with kitchen layouts, there are some GREAT designers here that really provide the best functional space given your parameters. Some of them are better than kitchen designers homeowners have hired. I've seen them rescue some very bad plans before someone made a big mistake....See MoreNew home build; need help choosing appliances!
Comments (15)Do you keep a lot of wine? We don't, so I prefer a beverage fridge that reaches lower temperatures and allows you to keep other stuff in it too. Since you like to cook, have you looked into the Miele CSO (convection steam oven)? I have the Miele CSO XXL, plumbed version, and it is my most used appliance. Will get another one in my next house. You can search the kitchen forum for lots of threads on that model. Majority here with CSOs are very happy with them....See MoreKitchen appliance help and recommendations for new build.
Comments (22)In the previous house , in a very HCOL area, family house, we did: SZ 36" integrated fridge column SZ 24" integrated freezer column Wolf 48" Dual Fuel Range Wolf 24" MW drawer Miele 24" CSO XXL Miele coffee machine Miele DW U-Line 15" under counter beverage fridge In the current house, built in 2022, nice area but overall lower COL than previous city/state, retirement house, we did: SZ 42" FD fridge/freezer SZ 24" under counter beverage fridge Wolf 36" Induction Range Miele 24" CSO XXL Miele coffee machine Miele DW Sharp 24" MW drawer (all made by Sharp, so not worth going with name brand ones) I don't like large expanses of stainless steel, so I paneled every appliance that could be paneled. SZ now makes a 48" FD fridge/freezer, so I would have gotten that instead of the 42" if it had been available. Love the Miele CSO. Hardly ever use the 36" oven, except if entertaining large groups....See Morestuarton
