Comments (29)I'm dying of laughter. Good laughter - Nancy, here we all are, busting our buns shopping on ebay, perusing posts to glean hints about likes and dislikes, you know, the whole stress thing, and you have put together a perfectly balanced and awesome box right from your own work. I love it. I'm jealous! Janet, RIP, had sent me some items from American Spoon in my first ever swap box. I still remember that sour cherry jam! I did some wallet damage when I was in that store last summer and I had to restrain myself! The box itself, with that painting, is incredible. Y'all are warned not to set foot in that store unless you want to be major overwhelmed (but you'll have a big grin on your face)....See MoreNeed help from the crafty/ingenuitive people that you all are
Comments (13)I had a space in my old kitchen that used to house a garbage disposal and when I took it out I ended up not filling it for some odd reason (can't remember). I ended up putting in a small metal rolling card with a handle on the end. When I was working in the small galley kitchen, I could slide it out and access bowl and things, and then just slide it back in. With the toddler...she could do the same thing, but use a fabric on velcro to cover the spot from prying eyes. (My 2 year old normally won't dig that hard). Or (as I do) keep things that are accessable in plastic containers on that cart). Or she could perhaps just find a door that matches the space size? Paint/finish to match the existing and then build rough shelfs in there (slip of 1x1 down each side and back and slide in a precut shelf). She could also do the shelfs as well and just do the fabric cover verses the door....See MoreWhere are all the mother earth people?
Comments (18)The antibacterial agent used in all of the wipes I've seen is alcohol. Rubbing alcohol and a paper towel would do the same thing, if not better, for a lot less money. Basically any of the "pre-moistened wipes" are a ripoff, whether it's the germ killing ones or the ones that are moistened with window cleaner or other cleaning products. You are paying a big premium for a very small amount of actual cleaner. Plus if you don't use them fast enough, they all dry out and are worthless. I do like the alcohol-based hand sanitizers though. A lot of public restrooms do not have soap, so it can be very handy to have the santizer in your vehicle. I have read studies that say that they do reduce colds and other infections. In one case, putting a couple of wall-mounted hand sanitizer dispensers in school classrooms and encouraging students and teachers to use them cut colds by around 30 percent. However, as you said, they did say in the study that actual hand-washing was better, due to the rinsing effect where the germs fall off. You don't get that effect with the sanitizers, but they're significantly better than nothing....See MoreNeed help from all the talented people here
Comments (10)I feel like the scale is off with both pieces. Dining centerpieces, at least ones that you intend to leave on the table while dining, shouldn't block the view across the table. The vase looks like you would be craning your neck to try and hold a dinner conversation. I think if you took the flowers and feathers and other items and rearranged them in a lower vessel it would make a striking centerpiece. Think low and wide. The rams skull looks similarly oversized for the coffee table. Is there somewhere else you can use it, like the mantel or the hearth? I'm not generally big on decorating coffee tables with lots of stuff (though I know some people do that). I tend to view coffee tables and side tables as a place to set down a drink and not as a showpiece....See MoreUser
