Blue is my favorite color and it goes well with brown. That said, I'd keep the bs neutral and add touches of blue in the accent pieces. You could use a cobalt blue utensil crock and flower vase - even dishes. And when your mind turns to orange, you can accessorize with that next - it'll be a completely new space.

As for the granite - it's a gorgeous stone and a bold choice. Can you tell us your tile budget in $/sf?

It is gorgeous! It seems you were just showing us the slabs last week! What progress. I would stick with a warm and neutral back splash. But as was mentioned, use pops of colour for the accents. The granite will be your showpiece.

Nice tops, but you've got a lot going on. Don't ever let any water stand near that sink, please. That stone looks loaded with iron. It will rust and abrade your top. I get that call now and then. I'd pick a solid color solid surface for a backsplash. No grout lines to compete with the movement in that stone.

Gorgeous! But I agree with the others - don't get carried away. I think a color behind the stove and around the window would be beautiful, but subtle everywhere else.

Part of the issue now is that it is unfinished and unlived in - I think it will look a lot different when the window is finished, the faucet is in, and you put a towel pig on the counter. Then you will have a better feel for how much - or how little - bling/color you want in the backsplash.

Gorgeous! What is your flooring? Really nice! I love blue too I understand why you want to go that route. It is a very bold stone and it demands to be the star. Let it have the leading role! A lovely more quiet subtle supporting actor would be a good candidate for backsplash.

Beautiful space! Congrats. I would do something similar to the floor tile. It looks like your granite has a similar color running through it as well. Your kitchen is already a showstopper with the granite and hood range so you don't need a loud or busy backsplash (it would likely just clash IMO).

I'm showing you Fireclay Tile because it's handmade, beautiful, and you can price it online. Their Foundations line features 3" x 6" and a few other sizes at $15/sf. These are all neutrals. I know you want blues or greens, but I suspect you'll change your mind once you get some sample tiles in the space. All of these will look gorgeous with orange accessories (like the Kosta-Boda Vase and bowl below).

I'll jump on the bandwagon: Lovely stone -- I wish I could see the sparkles in the pictures --but keep your backsplash simple. I hear you when you say you love blue ... but I don't think blue belongs in your backsplash AT ALL; rather, bring your blue "pop of color" in through your linens and accessories. I'd pick a color from the granite and go with a simple shaped backsplash. Not white -- too stark a contrast. And keep the granite the same shade as the tile.

hi OP, LOVE your counter, i'm very partial b/c i have the same one!!! love it still after 4 years and it has held up beautifully!!!

we did a full granite b/s on cooktop wall and un-honed travertine on sink wall. i know travertine gets a bad rap on this forum, but we felt it just went very well with Sedna granite. i did not want anything shiny and wanted something "rough" to contrast the shininess of the granite. also i liked the "roughness" of the travertine with granite itself. to me, its a very "strong" rock and needed a "roughness" to go with it. if that makes sense.??!! sedna needs a strong but understated b/s to compliment it.... we did 6x6 squares, no deco pieces....

if u do go this route, just be sure the travertine has NO pink undertone to it!!

What a beautiful space. I agree with eam44 that you should check out fireclay. I was specifically thinking of their glazed thin brick, maybe for the same reason sprtphntc7a used travertine. I bet the travertine is lovely with that granite.
