Boscobel near Savannah ?

In my hunt for just one more space to squeeze one more rose I put boscobel next to Savannah . They are both coral but different and now I'm not sure if I should move boscobel . The whole row if it helps you visualize is soul sister ( apricot ) twilight zone ( deep purple ), behind that is duchess de Brabant ( shell pink ) blank space where violets pride may go , then boscobel , Savannah with flamenco Rosita behind it ( hot pink ) and plum perfect on the end .

Im really stumped ! Mostly because I ran out of space lol and these are stronger colors than I am used to , I don't know what happened this winter but I have a lot of bold new roses !

Does this color pattern seem acceptable? I wish they were blooming , it would be a lot more obvious. Thanks for your help !

also if any of these is a dud that shouldn't be in a row most seen please do tell !

Lily, can you possibly wait until these roses bloom so you can take photos to share with us? My personal opinion is that Twilight Zone, a deep purple, goes best with yellow, lavender, and/or pale pink. It might be good with Flamenco Rosita for an overall strong look. I don't think apricots and corals do well with purples. Color coordination is a personal thing, just like what scent smells good to you, so what you like best should be what you use. And rose placement isn't permanent, either. Diane

Nanadoll , I kinda wish I hadn't already planted . However spring here in Nashville lasts 2/3 weeks and then it gets so hot and rain is unpredictable. I wanted them planted while we had cooler temps and rain to help me get them established. :/

your boscobel photos are great !! Of course twilight zone as well , your photos are the reason I have it !! I am pleased with my section of twilight zone . I am nervous about the other side with the Savannah and boscobel. I think they are different enough I may be ok . you are correct that it's not permanent!

I could swap earth angel for Savannah . Or I have the Huntington rose , st Cecilia , strawberry hill unplanted still . It would still go next to flamenco Rosita ..thoughts ?

I'm right outside of Savannah. My impatiens bloomed like crazy from April 'til frost last year. They were in full shade, though, and got lots of water. They'll drink a lot in our summer heat. Welcome to the neighborhood! :)

I don't believe there are any public boats from Savannah that dock at Daufuskie, but I may be wrong. As far as I know, the only way to get there is by private boat, or by taking one of the ferries from Hilton Head Island at Broad Creek Marina. Tina, I saw that article on Cotedetexas about Daufuskie, too. IT was an interesting house that Joanie featured. DH and I have visited Daufuskie a few times, getting there from our dock only takes about 20 minutes. We docked there and had lunch at one of the little restaurants close to the marina. Many, many years ago, we took a little golf cart tour of the island, but that was before there had been so much development done. DH's father, who is now deceased, was friends of one of the men who had lived on Daufuskie all his life - that gentleman is now deceased, also. I remember touring the lighthouse building at Haig Point, which I don't even know if that still remains. Our experiences there were so long ago, I don't know much else to tell you, I heard that one of the developments there went bankrupt and closed down a couple years ago. Things locally have been so stagnant on the real estate market, (no sales to speak of), that information isn't surprising, a lot of the local developments are having problems. We are just across the river from Palmetto Bluff - another lovely area, and I've heard they've had their share of financial problems, too. Here is a link that might be useful: Palmetto Bluff

It doesn't look like insect damage close up, I did have them sprayed a few weeks ago for aphids and had to cut them down a bit (but they were mostly on the older bushes). I didn't spray Roundup, although I have a landscaper that may have (but I doubt it)... it does look closest to that kind of damage though after a quick google search. It is a bit weird as it is only most of the plant that's affected... there are one or two canes that look normal on one side of it, and then the rest is growing in looking weird and... frizzy, for lack of a better word! Doesn't look like rose rosette and no white mildew... also this bush is right next to the two healthy ones, I just planted them all this year as bare root roses. Could it be something toxic in the soil just right in that spot?? paulieinct, did your rose come back from the roundup damage?

I think you're fine with the one side. I need to look at Savannah's photos again. I don't think St Cecilia would look quite right next to a strong color. St C is such a pale luscious shade. You might want it to be showcased and not overwhelmed by the stronger colors. I need to look at some more pics of your roses. You've got some great choices. I wish I had room for that many new plants. Diane

Here in 8A, Savannah is a light apricot-pink, I'll never see the darker colors they have in z5 and in northern Europe. Only been thru one season but I would NOT consider it a strong color.

I think you'll have a nice contrast between the two-- doesn't look like they'd clash.

With our heat we see quite a variation in color between spring/fall bloom and summer. Everything from Night Owl to Lyda Rose to Cubana changes completely.
