Beware of "Vintage Doors" (Hammond, NY)

Vintage Doors (Hamilton, NY) seems to be manipulating their online reviews. After a terrible experience with them, I was reading other online reviews (something I should have done before ordering), and I became curious as to why, although this company has bad reviews on most online sites (including the Better Business Bureau, Yelp, and YellowPages.com), they had glowing reviews on their FB page and on Houzz. I then looked at their FB reviews and realized that all their 5-star reviews were from employees! When I mentioned this on their FB page, they deleted the review feature from their FB page. I then looked at their reviews on Houzz and saw that they have 132 reviews, the vast majority of them 5-star. When I looked more closely, however, I saw that over 100 of those 5-star reviews were entered over the two-day period of November 30 - December 1st, 2015, and none of those reviews were from users who had a verified purchase from VintageDoors. It seems the company is unethically manipulating the on-line reviews they can control.

Some of the online reviews from other customers mention that Howard Demick, the CEO, personally threatened them if they wrote a negative review. All of the negative reviews share the same theme—abusive treatment by Howard Demick. My experience with Howard as similarly disconcerting, as he attacked me personally—including my character and my profession—rather than staying focused on the concerns I expressed with the product and customer service in question.

Watch out for Vintage Doors (Hammond, NY).

i had an excellent experience with Vintage Doors. I am not an employee. Perhaps everyone's experience is not the same as yours?

I think if you get exactly what you want from them and don't have to address any concerns after the product arrived, they're great (my initial ordering experience was fine). But if you have some sort of issue with the product that arrives, they are more than unhelpful. This is the first time, in all my years of interacting with companies, that I have ever been motivated to write a negative review. I really am just hoping I can save others the mistake of working with them. If your door arrives perfect the first time--you'll be fine. But why not go with another company that has better follow-up customer service, just in case you have an issue?

You seem to be spamming all the old house web forums with your
complaints about Vintage Doors. The complaints seem to be about their
feedback/ratings and not the specific issues that you had with the
company. Share the problems you had with the company rather than
complaining about Yelp ratings.

I'd check out on your own the company the woman is complaining about.

Seems she has a personal vendetta and has refused to identify the issue that she had the problem with.
