Thank you everyone! You know, it's a bit reddish on my monitor too. ;) IRL, it's a hot, hot pink. It doesn't look bad, but it doesn't look intentional either. I'm leaning toward a deeper red to tie into rug an and artwork. Matching the bar stools is still an option- and I even have the paint for that, but something about red is speaking to me. I think this is essentially the color palette of the area. I'll have to get some color chips today.

Have you seen this post on Built-in Bunk beds? There are actually 4 on this wall, but only 2 can be seen. The area is painted SW Warm Stone. ' If you Google the image, you'll find other built-in bunk beds with a similar paint finish. I love the idea of a bunk room, and wish we had left the space over the garage accessible through the house so we could add them for our grandchildren. Painting the cabs to a high standard is an investment in both time and money I would not do in a rental. Also, is the owner supplying the paint for the walls? As a landlord and a former renter, I would make sure that any colors chosen get the owners approval first. As to what shade could work best for you on the walls, can you share more pics? Agree with you that the current shade isn't working. And I would most likely paint out that bit of white trim to match the new wall colour, if the landlord approves.
