Exterior color help colonial home
Comments (45)awm we were posting at the same time. I actually really like both versions of your home as I do of bittersweet's. You can count me in with the home owners with "fake" style homes. Ours is a Queen Anne Victorian wanna be and everyone that has seen it, even strangers that find out I live in "that house" tell me they love it. We even had one couple come snooping in our windows when we were obviously here working on our home during finishing (ha! like it'll ever be finished) construction. Two vehicles in the driveway and their walking around with their noses to the windows. LOL. When I saw them I told Darrell and we both went outside to meet them. They were a very nice couple and we invited them in to get a better look. Ha! They said they'd been watching it from ground up and was thrilled to get a look inside. Here it is last fall. We've yet to finish the sleeping porch railings. Took down the temp to be able to move in awhile ago and are now thinking of closing it in as a three season porch since we love the screen porch we closed in a couple years ago. And here's my idea of gingerbread and shutters that hubby really wants. I'd like other trim too, but it all adds up when you are doing it all with cash.......See MoreNeed help for the exterior of a Garrison Colonial please!
Comments (1)You have created your problem by yourself in your head. It looks fine. Go to the decorating forum and get suggestions for a front door/shutter color. As a landscaping suggestion, I would delete the huge looming pine tree, the house will look much better without it....See MoreExterior color scheme for 1920’s colonial...in need of help!

Comments (6)Good afternoon everyone. We are in the process of painting our 20 year old Spanish Colonial Home and looking to give it a new look. The inspiration house palette we are going for is the first picture in our picture deck. Our existing house color is a Khaki Tone. The 2nd picture is a home very similar to ours in the neighborhood who painted the body the same white color we chose - "Pueblo White Dunn Edwards." https://www.dunnedwards.com/colors/browser/det675 Our HOA requires 3 colors in the palette which is a new rule, so we are kinda stumped as to the best place to put what color. We would like to replace the terracotta trim in our neighbors house with more of a deep brown tone that will coordinate with our deep red and brown roof tiles - similar to that of Picture #1 - our inspiration house. The color we chose for the Brown is called "Chocolate Chunk Dunn Edwards" https://www.dunnedwards.com/colors/browser/de6070 The last picture we posted shows these color samples (Pueblo White and Chocolate Chunk) painted on our home so we could see them in the daylight. Ignore the light camel color as we are not using that one. One difference our house has is we have a spanish style stair case in the courtyard unlike our neighbors so would like to make this pop somehow if we could. Our home has a lot of inset niches. Not as many in the front as in the back which we've attached pictures of. We also need to mention the colors we use have to have an LRV of >= 10 as the HOA does not want to dark of a color. Any help with a "current" spanish colonial/santa barbara style exterior paint palette would be appreciated. The only color we are keeping for sure is the body is Pueblo White. Thank you in advance....See Morelukkiirish
