Comments (6)Love your fabric!!!.. for over the sink I can see it two ways.. handkercief points with some sort of trim.. or tight shaped padded valance to mimic the shape of the other window treatment. As for the brick.. take all the stuff down.. keep one striking item at most or piece of art.. you could think of toning down the brick a bit with just a touch of mocha that you mix up in a clear glazing medium.. it would help town down the red tones that are making it feel more busy. I have the orginal cooking chimney still in my kitchen. I love the look of brick but it can be a bugger if it's not the color way you are trying to go! Maddiemom...See MoreI'm so stuck!!! Comments (40)Art is very personal - what I like might not appeal to you. Look on-line (Arttwo50.com; icanvas.com; greatbigcanvas.com); usually you can enter some criteria such as Landscapes, Floral, Modern, size, even a major color you want. See what you like, and consider if overall the colors will go with your gray sofa, maybe your console color, etc. I think when you see some, you'll be able to narrow it to a few. The wall behind your sofa can take a large size. Pros on this forum will help you when you have a few you are considering. From the artwork, you can think about colors for pillows and a rug....See MoreI'm Stuck!!! Need help with guest bathroom...Please!!!
Comments (13)In our master bathroom, we have the same soapstone countertop and same tile floor. However, there is lots of natural light. Maybe the same painted wood backsplash? The master bathroom has the black windowsill and and black floor trim but has the light grey walls. I like the white wall idea for the guest bathroom to brighten up a small darker room. If I repaint the handles on the door black, and add black hardware, would I also leave the floor trim black? Or have it the same white as the doors and windowsill/trim? Also, I'm trying decide a plan of attack! It seems like this course might be logical.... Remove the backsplash (but how do I repair the drywall so it looks good?) Paint the walls white Remove the wallpaper and then make a decision Finally, decide on what to do with the vanity...See MoreI'm stuck, need help landscaping a large front square area!
Comments (25)You did not like what I had to say last time. Hopefully you will like this better. You don't seem to be wanting a patio or courtyard sitting space and have said you don't want to block the kitchen windows. Think of your rectangle as a picture frame instead. Now let's draw something inside the frame. Something Zen, calm and simple would be nice. Beth H. had some good examples. Find a piece of art, a sculpture, some large garden tchotchke, a fun piece of junk, something you would enjoy to be your focal point in the picture. Plant a drift of native Florida Coontie, Zamia integrifolia in a groundcover of Mondo grass, Ophiopogon japonicus. Add in a big sack of Rain Lily, Zephyranthes bulbs. The big pale pink ones are my favorite. You now have a simple, no maintenance, calming front entrance that will surprise you with small pink tulip like flowers on and off through the year....See MoreRelated Professionals
