Trader Joes 'Twigs and leaves' mandarins - grafting material?

I just picked up a really fresh plastic container of seedless, easy-peel Mandarins from Trader Joe's. They had twigs and leaves attached. Have no idea the real variety. Anyone? Kind of late for Satsumas I'm thinking.

Anyway the twigs and leaves look really fresh. Has anyone ever tried using this as budwood for grafting?? How about trying to root as cuttings? One bud looks to be trying to grow already. I realize I'd be at a slight disadvantage since it's not as fresh as 'right off the tree'.
