Need help for open concept kitchen/living area
Comments (5)I have darker brown hardwood and have Revere Pewter in my living/kitchen areas. I painted large foam boards with a couple coats of paint samples to move around different areas with the diiferent lighting we have throughout the space. With our floors, Revere Pewter does not have a green undertone to me. But, it does look different throughout. On some walls it reads as greige, and on others it reads more gray. I'm no color expert, but my opinion would be to stay away from yellow or pink undertones. Here's the kitchen dining area: These two adjoining walls to the left of the bookcases are both Revere Pewter. Of course, my camera and the lighting are affecting it, but they really do look that different....See MoreNeed help with open concept kitchen/dining room lighting
Comments (3)I have open concept with an island with a sink and after reading many threads here I scratched my plan to have clear glass and went with ribbed glass and a lens which spreads the light downward. You’ll need good lighting at the sink. Your inspiration pic has a large skylight and no sink in the island. I would not do a lantern type. Where is your dining room. Would it be the space from where the perspective originates? If it is, you could use a different color/material since there is some space separation with the wall opening. I would also repeat the chosen color/materials in another way in the decor of the DR....See MoreNeed help with creating open concept kitchen-kitchen by front door
Comments (7)I would close in the doorway to the kitchen from the front door, make that a true entryway. We did this in 2 homes so far with kitchens at the front of the house. My current home had glass block which we knocked down and replaced with an actual wall. My last house had what you have and we closed it in, took out another part of the wall to open it up within the kitchen and added an island. Let me find pictures......See MoreNeed Design Help: Open Concept Kitchen Family Room w/o Eat-In Space
Comments (26)Yeah, I know it’s a tall order to come up with something that accomplishes what I want but I figured I'd see if others on Houzz had some ideas. Both sectionals that I'm considering are pretty spacious. The first one is 144” x 79” and the other is 120” x 110.” msteezzy - here’s a picture of the space you asked about....See MoreMike Nelson
