My original planned program looks like this:

3/25 - Applied Starter Fert at Bag Rate

5/1 - Apply Starter Fert at Bag Rate

6/1 - Milo @ 15#/1000

7/1 - Milo @ 15#/1000

8/1 - Milo @ 15#/1000

9/1 - Starter Fert at bag rate

10/15 - Starter Fert at bag rate

I was asked in a thread I hijacked from Donne (sorry again btw), why push all the N-P for a northern type lawn? A reasonably easy question to answer, yet I can't. Side Bar: I didn't realize Bermuda grass can handle the higher N, especially in a warmer climate like Austin. My original thinking was 1. The starter fertilizer will help my thin/newly planted grass seed from last summer (new construction), and 2. the organic fertilizer will help keep the grass fed all summer without hurting it through the warmer months. 3. finishing the year with starter fertilizer should help round out the program for next spring.

Plan was to mow high, 3.5" in the spring/fall and 4"+ in the summer months to help get it through "drought season".

So, since I can't answer such a simple question "Why push all the N-P?", I'm off to get a soil study done...
