I haven't heard anything in a while either. I checked in with him back in early/mid February and he said he'd be sending them out that week, but they haven't arrived yet. If you hear anything stardrifting, please post here again if you get a chance. I think he was planning on sending them all out together, so we probably aren't the only ones wondering.

You don't harvest salsify until your first frost, usually October. "Right before the ground freezes solid (if that happens in your area), dig what you will need for the harshest of winter and store in damp sand in a root cellar or outdoor pit with a lid. Cut off the tops of the remaining roots and mulch them heavily. When the soil thaws in spring, dig those last roots and store them in a dark place to prevent sprouting." I haven't hear about salisfy for some years & had to google some info. to make sure. I use to be able to buy this tuber(?) at grocery stores, but haven't seen it for some years now. We also called it oyster plant. Ground up the bulb/tuber and made it into patties, fried it and it tastes much like oysters. My family liked it vey much.
