I would remove all the shutters except for the two lower single windows on the brick. I think replacing them with appropriately sized, functional shutters with shutter dogs has the potential for a lot of charm. As for shutter color, I would pull a dark grey/blue from your brick.

This might be a better photo showing the siding color The siding is steel. We will be removing the hedge bushes too. We will be removing the front siding due to sime damage. Wondering if we should replace to what we have or put instead a shake siding on front

Thank some of you for the unsolicited landscaping feedback on my post about shutter mounting placement 🙄 We are working on a landscaping plan and I’ll welcome feedback on that post once it’s up. Maybe I’ll even link it here for you. Regarding the subject of this post, I think we’ve decided to go with the hinge mounts on the window framing and have the shutters cover the windows themselves, not the entire brick opening. The shutters won‘t be quite as big as the one pictured and we will add ine to either sode of every window, including the double window. The double window will only cover 1/2 of the two outer windows, but this way they’ll fit between the window and the planters. If there are other opinions on mounting location, please let me know. Thanks!

any of these colors is a great starting point. Matching is not as important as complimenting. Several of these together would compliment your brick. I would NOT paint the garage doors black. It will look like a black hole. Take a photo of your home, make several copies on paper and color in the 'components' that you plan to change... you'll find one you love.
