Countertop confusion!!! Marble? Silstone?Caesarstone? Help!
Comments (7)I just chose a slab of Quartzite called White Cristallo this week, and it's a sparkly white where the crystalline structures of the stone are visible. A very cool white, and I saw slabs that tended to blue-white and slabs that tended to a Ming green-white. I'm using Sea Pearl in my master bath and it's very grey/green on the scale of whites. Somewhere I've got a link to an article that compares the white quartz products. The quartzites wont give you the warmth and soft whites of the marbles, the quartz products won't give you the sheer beauty of the natural marble. but I'm in the same boat with you, I love to cook and I'm not willing to baby my counters and not wanting to put up with the staining and etching. Go look at several stones, and several slabs of quartz, and maybe you'll fall in love too. I'm so enamored with my white cristallo that I'm not even sad about not having marble anymore....See MoreRaven CaesarStone Counters
Comments (12)Hi Anne999, It definitely shows fingerprints (especially if you have greasy fingers!), but its not very noticeable to us at this point. When we first got the counters in we did notice that more so if you think that might bother you, you may want to consider the polished finish. The finger prints wipe right up with a damp cloth. Every spill we have had has wiped right up. I think that a question that most people have about honed quartz counters is how does dirt (fingerprints, spills, glass marks, etc) show, so I thought I'd be brave enough to post a picture of my countertop as it looked this morning. We prepared food & drinks on it and ate around the island last night. Then we went to bed without wiping it. Click on the link below to see what it looked like this AM when I woke up (did I mention we are laid back in our household?). On my next post, I will post a pic of the same area after a quick wipe down. Hope this helps! Here is a link that might be useful:...See MoreCaesarstone Countertop Colour #'s - HELP!
Comments (3)I ran into a similar problem. From what I could tell, the 4030 means different colors in the Caesarstone "World" market. If it's in Europe, it is one color. In the United States, a different color. If you Google Caesarstone USA, you should get 4030 to be the pebble color. This is a light gray with just a few specs of other gray tones barely scattered as a pattern. That is what I ordered in a USA market and that is what I got despite the numbers and names not matching. If you are ordering outside the United States, it may be something different. Mine is just a month old so I don't think it is an "old" model. Since I am having trouble matching a backsplash to this countertop with medium wood cabinets, I am curious what you have chosen for your tile. What is your backsplash or tile choice? Does it match the counters or the cabinets?...See MoreUPDATE: Which Caearstone Countertop? (IKEA mention)
Comments (3)I actually forget that they're there from time to time, we'll be putting the kitchen back together in a week or two so it'll be in full swing use by then. Can't wait to pack those drawers!...See Morecarameanie
