Shabby Chic Bedroom Pink
Comments (28)writersblock and polly so glad you also feel the above bedding but with plain white curtains would be best. That's what I've been thinking also. The white tulle sounds lovely or maybe eyelet, or maybe dotted swiss. kms we considered the Target bedding . . . it would sure save me a few bucks. But DD just doesn't like it. She really knows what she likes! It's really interesting . . . I never had such opinions at her age. She really is an "old soul" and actually does her fair share of mothering me at times. polly we just adore beds with curved footboards!! We never even knew about them until we found the website I mentioned before (foreverpinkcottagechic.com) We actually wanted a twin bed but couldn't find one with that look . . . so we decided to get the full bed. Today we also decided we're going to get a crystal chandy to complete the look! It should be stunning since it is a south facing room and the rainbows will be incredible. We never had a ceiling fixture in that room so we'll have to run wires. I'm just not sure where to hang it. If we do it centered in the room close to the ceiling then the sun may not hit it. If we hang it too low it may bonk heads? I wonder if we should plan on hanging it over the vanity area on the window side of the room? Or if that really limits furniture placement then?...See MoreWhat was the inspiration for Shabby Chic?
Comments (33)LOL I thought you'd kick out of that. I only looked at the thumbnails. Our two year old grandson was here today. I'll have to go look at them. One of my hubby's sister's hubby lives out in the boondocks of central Iowa, nothing wrong with Iowa. It's my Home Sweet Home state, and he has a garage/outbuilding that's his man cave, though I can't see him calling it that. It's unfinished on the inside so it's more garage and storage for his muscle car, but does have tables with his stuff on them. Nothing fancy, not messy either. Just a place to get away from the house when the guys are over to watch Nascar or football. Just a country boy at heart. The best thing that happened to my SIL. Now I'm going to take a few minutes to check out the man caves. LOL...See Morefrench country rustic chic mbr makeover advice needed (pics)
Comments (22)ttodd - Glad you stopped by to comment! I love your beautiful home and value your input a lot. About the pictures, can you elaborate on your thoughts about the wood frames. Are you thinking of stained wood frames, similar to the bureau? It would be really helpful if you could post an example. I'm trying to envision things. I am wondering if I do wood frames over the current bureau if it will appear that too much wood of the same tone is concentrated in one area of the room. But, as you said, if I bring in the painted candlesticks and other items, it could balance it out. Also, do you think I can group the three animal prints together, leaving out the rose picture? I agree with not painting the bed and bureau to start. I'm hesitant, as the condition of both are very good, and I know it will be a lot of extra work! ales9179 - Thanks for your thoughts. I'm hoping I can keep the current dresser. Since I share the room with my hubby, I don't want it to turn out over the top feminine. I love French Country style, but I guess more toward the French Country Farmhouse side, if I had to define it; relaxed and beautiful at the same time - sawdust and pearls, so to speak....See MoreWhat style of lighting for french country/shabby chic room?
Comments (5)The photos make it look pretty hopeless. I am in the process of painting the walls accessible beige SW. It is half done. Also i have to go back to cut in at the ceiling. I ordered a border sample but i think that might be overkill and make the ceilings look even shorter. Things are laying around until the paint is finished. The footstool under the window will be recovered. The dog likes to sit there to look out but it also slides in front of the sofa for a footstool/coffee table....See MoreRelated Professionals
