How high would you hang your shower curtain?

My shower head arm angles downward to the shower head which is also angled. The highest part of the head part is about 80 1/4" from the bathroom floor. The tub is a Kohler Archer with the inside height of the tub side measuring 16" from the tub floor, the outside of the tub side measuring 18" from the bathroom floor. How high should we hang the curved curtain rod? If we hang it 81" high to block the sight of the shower head, then 9" of our tub will be visible from the floor to the bottom of the curtain-is this o.k.? Or maybe more is visible because the rod curves?? Does anyone know how much the curve changes the length?

At least high enough that the tallest person in the house can get into the shower without ducking.

I would hang them 3-inches above the top of the window molding which will line up to be just below the transom line. Reason: if you hang them higher than 3 inches there is too much wall showing below the rod and it will make those two narrow windows look narrower visually as it emphasizes the vertical. If, f.ex. the decision was made to remove those windows, take out everything between them and do a huge picture window in that space, then I would hang the draperies at the level of the top of the transom because the window would be much more horizontal and the effect would be different.

Folks......... either way? To get a look like the pictures? Is $$$$$$$ and custom. The op doesn't have the advantage of a fabulous view. A translucent privacy treatment, AND custom sheers are the answer. It isn't a quick trip to Bed, Bath Beyond............: )

Unless you're using custom, stock curtain sizes are going to dictate how high you hang them. Approx 94, 108 or 120". You can add a couple of inches with rings as they did in the photo. The general advice is to go high and wide but I personally don't like it when the rod is jammed against the ceiling. This graphic gives good advice about height and width.

Does it need to hide the shower head for looks purposes only, or because water could actually come out over the top of the curtain if it is not higher than the shower head? I was thinking the water would come straight down until it hits the head of the tallest person (74" high) and wouldn't spray sideways until it hits the top of a head.

Do you think seeing the about 9" of the tub would look bad? My curtain will be white waffle weave, standard size of 72" long, and the tub is also white.
