rather than do that I would do a real quick simple system restore because those may not be the only settings that got changed, doing one to a time just before all that happened should put your pc exactly back to how you had it set up. Hi, Genes. I don't have a scroll wheel or a mouse. Just a touchpad. I tried holding down the control key while running my finger in different directions over the touchpad - and also while hitting the right or left touchpad key - and also while hitting the directional arrow keys. Nothing changed. Any other things I can try? This also happens on google search pages. So it's a google thing. my other tabs - sites - are fine. Unfortunately that means that when I click on help from gmail - I get these teeny unreadable pages. Thanks. Lynn.

I don't see a way to change the font size if you're using Internet Explorer which it seems you are. Is it possible that your screen resolution has changed? If so, everything would be larger not just the font. To change that right click on an empty spot on your desk top (not on an icon) and choose Properties on the drop down menu then click on the settings tab. If I remember right there is a slider to adjust the screen resolution there. Write down what it is if you adjust it so you can change it back if needed.

Just another comment on computer use and glasses. If you wear bifocals or progressives, it's important to buy computer glasses. If you don't, and use your regular progressives to work at the computer, you will be holding your neck at an unnatural angle, and there is research that shows that can cause permanent damage to the neck over time. For the progressive wearer, computer glasses would be designed so that the bottom of the glasses are for close work, and the upper part is formulated for computer screen distance. The brand Compuvue makes lenses that are just amazing--NO side distortion (like you get with regular progressives). Luckily, my dd is an optician and keeps me both informed and supplied with the best eyecare solutions. It's really important, though, that if you do a lot of computer work, that you discuss your corrections with your opthalmologist or qualified optician (not all opticians are licensed, in all states) and get the proper correction for your needs. One pair of glasses may not be enough to handle all your activities properly. And considering the cost of medical treatment, to me it IS a money-saving tip to have the best eye correction possible.
