Keep in mind that your plants will have cultural needs, so those must be accommodated, not just your aesthetic choices. Also, few plants will be guaranteed critter resistant short of those that are highly toxic, so what may be ignored by critters in one garden may get munched in another.

I can't testify to deer, rabbit or groundhog resistance, but these are vole resistant in my garden.

Check out Japanese alliums - this one is Japanese in origin, but I don't know if it is the right shade of pink for you. There may be others that are more to your liking, and generally Alliums are avoided by all critters.

Epimedium grandiflorum is from Japan and there are various shades of pink. Here are a bunch of selections in various shades at probably one of the best Epimedium nurseries anywhere. The same nursery allows you to sort ("Find Plants" tab) by color, and in the sort of pink flowers, there are several that specifically mention that they came from Japan.

How native is "native"? Many plants - like chrysanthemums - are native to China (probably the area of greatest biodiversity and number of plant species of anywhere on the planet) but have naturalized centuries ago to other areas, like Japan. Same with Japanese anemones (Anemone hupehensis var. japonica, and Anemone × hybrida) and these come in pinks and could qualify. Pieris japonica is another possibility although maybe borderline in zone 5. And if you were looking for your current zone, I'd include one of the 100's of evergreen azaleas with Japanese origins.

It might be helpful to reduce your limiting requirements to some degree, otherwise you are significantly restricting your choices.........

Thanks for all the suggestions. When I mean native it doesn't necessarily have to have originated in Japan. Being naturalized is there is ok. For example I love bamboo, rose of sharon, yuzu, and satsuma mandarin and have all of them right now and they all originate from china but is naturalized in Japan. Names that end with japonica are good too. But I think ajania pacifica, a type of mum, originates from Japan.
