How about a new pets thread?
Comments (13)Elkay..You furry, feathered and finny friends are exceptional. Their history is so sad. While reading your post, I felt like crying. Terribly depressing. People can be so damn cruel. Thankfully, they now have a happy, secure home with loving parents. In pic one, Kodi's eyes look blue. Are they? It's sad hearing shelters are over-crowded. For those who can't afford it, there are places where spaying and neutering is done by how much a person makes. Lower income families, etc. The woman who dropped Kodi off is a horrible person. Too bad stricter laws aren't made for people like her. She and other monsters should not be able to buy/adopt any pet. If they do, the pet should be taken w/o legal BS, and she should be fined. A steep fine. If the fine can't be paid, 'and since jails are crowded,' she should, at the minimum, be ordered to complete several hours of community service. If it was up to me, she'd be chained to a pole, given stale bread and dirty water, three times a day. Your Conure is a beauty. Yes, they're talkers, but need to be talked to daily. Repeated words, then phrases. They're tinny voice is so cute. Conures playful and acrobatic. Little clowns. Do you clip his wings? Although he's older, if you clip, then sit down and talk/play with him on a daily basis, he still might talk. Birds listen and watch their parents/us. You'd be suprised what they'll repeat. So, watch your language. lol. Love your blue Betta..Aren't they the best? Purple...so is the Dane in the picture your dog? I love Danes. Do you know his weight. Funny story about your gate. lol. You've got some intelligent canines in your neighborhood. Don't get upset, they only want to play. :) Rachel..Another cutie. Bogie sees something out the window he wants to play with..Whatever, he's interested and very curious. :) Larry. At first glance I thought they were twins..Beautiful colors. Think they enjoy having their pictures taken. Asleep. Pets are enigmas for sure. Do you have sand or gravel in the tank? I used to breed Bettas, among other fish. They'd dig gravel, like dogs dig garden soil. I've seen Betta's digging, but they never hid underneath. How long was he gone? Sheesh, I'd have assumed he jumped out of the tank. lol. My photos are stored on Flickr. Flickr changed format, so I don't know if I can dl pics here. Wish they'd let sites be. Toni...See MoreQuestion about Round Up
Comments (6)yes.. i do it many times per year ... do not use the premix spray things ... buy a sprayer ... and learn how to use it with water .. you have 3 adjustments ... the grip pressure.. the air pressure.. and the nozzle adjustment ... learn how to make big drops.. that gravity makes fall to the earth ... instead of french perfume-like mist that wafts on the wind ... and with big drops.. you can even spray on windy days ... as you get good at it ... once you have perfected such thru making all the adjustments ... read the RU instructions... and mix according to what you are going to kill ... 1 to 2% should be all you need ... see instructions .... insure you are not walking thru that which you spray ... and understand that you dont need 100% coverage ... this time of year.. the kill takes time to show.. depending on how warm it is ... i find that i can not maintain high attention thru a large area... so i go for 80 to 90 % kill ... then wait until i can see the result.. and then take my time be more thorough ... i have a tall 3 gallon tank.. but i only fill it to two gals [otherwise too heavy] ... i like it.. because if i set it down.. to mess with something ... when i stand back up.. i dont have to bend over to pick it up ... once it is filled with water for practice ..... insert top.. and pump 10 times... see what the pressure is... then 10 more.. until you learn how many pumps it takes on the initial prime... then adjust the tip nozzle.. until you get course heavy droplets.. that fall to the ground... i test it all on black top.. so i can SEE what i am producing ... try not to mix more than you need.. but it will last a few days or so.. in the tank ... store the tank with NO PRESSURE ... but reseal after it falls ... if you cant turn the top... you probably have to much pressure ... after a few days.. the grasses will start yellowing.. looking chlorotic ... they are dead ... you really dont even have to remove it.. as it is now compost ... but now you will start to see what you missed because it will still be green... so respray ... things the grow on runners.. like many grasses.. keep in mind.. the kill will spread thru said runners to some extent ... so you usually dont have to get real close to good plants .. RU MUST TOUCH GREEN TISSUE ...so it becomes inert on touching soil ... if after you have done all that.. and you still have some very tricky grass ... in hard places ... you can use a foam brush or a cotton glove with a rubber glove under.. to hit them ... i want to go outside.. so go buy the tank.. and the concentrate ... and i will think up more tips ... ken...See MoreNEW: New Begining Round Robin

Comments (105)ok sent out mellens and earthys questionares to everyone. Mailed them in two different ways - forwarded and in the big word document. Only received an error message for veeje on 2 so far. Now everyone should have everyone's questionares. All books should be mailed out by now. Moving on to March - Feel free to pick your partner baised on things you have that you think they would want baised on the questionares. PLEASE POST who you want as there have been so many problems with emails. I will be making a new thread soon as this one is filling up. I will name it MARCH collectors Corner please post there and I will go and add each person who listed on this thread to that thread when I get the extra time (not today though)... Melinda as for your quest5ion. And by collections do you go by the question of things they collect on the questionnaire or the type of flowers they collect or what? MY REPLY: I don't know how you can send flowers with it being so cold, but if you want you can send an IOU or something like that for the spring. Otherwise - try to go off what they have on their questioinares or even on their gardenweb pages. Just do the best you can. However I know that some people don't have much listed on their questionares so I don't know what to do about that. Glad everyone is enjoying your books!...See MoreRoyals fan-MO6a
