Thanks Barbmock and Vitorama! I didn't know if a fused leaf was usual in sans. I wonder what causes this or if any others will grow this way. I guess time will tell.

I am enjoying collecting different types of sans and was surprised to see them pup so soon. But then I'm in Florida and everything grows here lol. It started out as a "great idea" to pot up some family heirloom plants into decorative pots. Unfortunately (lol), I started to research and found all these amazing and different looking sans!! So now, instead of trying to find plants to fit into pots, I am trying to find pots to put the sans into!!! - J

Florida is such a great place for plant lovers. I lived there for a few years. The plants are amazing. Sans love the heat.

I spotted this pup this week looking under my Kirkii Silver, it was white but took a greenish tinge since yesterday. I'm always amazed at how long Sans. take to pup and suddenly all happens so fast.

Very beautiful! The colors are so creamy and soft looking.

I am very excited to find a new pup on my S. t. Forescate. Had it for many years and was worried that it may die for me and never have a pup. Maybe I just might get a pot full in a few more years. Next to it is rooted leaf cuttings of Futura Compacta. Just couldn't throw them away so I know they will be plain Futura but they are nice also. After my worse year ever for hahnii.

Barbmock and Oyster, are the Manolin and Siam Silver one and the same? I have one and it was sold to me as a Siam Silver, but I've seen it labeled Manolin in several sites.

Forescate was a hard sans for me for many years. Lost a few and was hoping I didn't lose this one. It grew new leaves and for many years just existed. This is the first for me with this one.

sorry, I don't know. I haven't seen these two. The one I have was labeled Tenzan. I do believe it is the same as Siam Silver. Whatever it is, it is a beauty, and grew for me, even in the winter.

I took pics of some of mine but they were not good pics except this one. 'Moonshine' Will try to get more pics another day.

I've been spending most of my time outside pulling those darn cherry laurel sprouts. This area was clean of them last week...

I have a few new pups to show you today.

This first one is mettalica San Remo. It has an unusual style of growth. The new pups have the bright yellow variegation, and as they mature eventually turn solid green.

This is elliptica Horwood. Some of you may remember last year it sent the new growth right out of the drain hole. I was busy cutting the pot away to save the pup. Now I have a new pup coming up as it should. This is one of those plants with the stiff cardboard-like leaves. Looks similar to a masoniana in color and texture of the leaf.

Here's a green parva with a baby. I hope to get a potfull!

A couple of years ago I started some sans from leaf cuttings. It does work, but oh, so slow! The leaves were Sunrise, but of course the babies are a plain green trifasciata. The aloe that has jumped in is Christma Carol, I think.

As a bonus, a small Masoniana pup. It's exploding at the moment.

Variegation adds a dimension to an already interesting species. But since I'm naturally curious and always experimenting, I just have to see and validate a true parent for myself. That's why I'm always eager to get leave-cuttings from my plants and watch them produce offsets. Just some 20 plastic cups in a row, with a small hole drilled in the bottom. Easy, durable, and space efficient.

Here's some of mine with new pups:

EB88, Nice plants. if those are cuttings of Cylindrica in that pot. The pup will have broader flatter leaves typical of sanseveria and will latter take on it's round long stems. A lot of plants were sold as leaf cuttings and root and sprout lots of new growth.

I had intended to just let the pups get a bit bigger in the pot with the mother, but I’m noticing a few roots coming out the bottom. Should I repot? Trim roots & put back in here? Separate now? Any advice?

Ariel, If me, I would leave alone for now. A few roots out the bottom is great. If you had a root rhizome, well that is different. When the pups are much bigger, I would still leave attached and re-pot into a larger container.

Gold Hahnii, is possibly one of the hardest one to grow. You seem to have good luck with it. Being in a warm climate makes all the difference.

It doesn’t get below 60 F here. In summer (rainy season), I only supplement the rain when I want to give some Dyna-Gro. In the dry season, I’m going to see how it does with once a week, but it is in no actual soil, so maybe a bit more frequently?

Have you tried to grow some out in the ground?

I don’t really have any non-forest ground. They (sans in general) grow well in the ground here, though. I see them (not gold Hahnii but other sans). They don’t seem to be as invasive here as they get in South Florida. They spread, but not like the thickets they can become in Miami. I don’t know why that is.

Only the Sansevieria hyacinthoides are invasive in zone 9 and above. Close cousin of Sans. trifasciata. The hahnii group and most of the futura group don't flower to produce seed. Most are very easy controlled.
