Cooling down warm beige walls

last modified: 7 years ago

I just posted this in the Paint forum, but thought I might get some good insights here as well. I'm moving into a rental and the walls are painted warm beige, with a gold accent wall. The colors in my current home lean cooler, with the main area painted BM Edgecomb Gray, Revere Pewter, and a greenish-blue SW color called Contented. I can't repaint the entire rental, but would love to cool down that gold wall with a blue tone. My accent color in those rooms will be navy, white and gray. I suppose I will have to pull in tan/beige somehow. Any paint color suggestions for me? I prefer SW colors, but will color match another brand if necessary.

My other concern is overdoing it with blue. Any other colors that would work well to cool down warm walls and pair well with navy? I'm looking for curtains as well, and the living/dining area opens to kitchen, with medium wood cabinets, black appliances and dark brown/black Formica.

Thanks!
