Guess what happens when you get a new roof...
Comments (16)I feel your pain. We had our house sided a few years ago which got delayed to early spring - the worst possible time. We had 2 groups of workers, first the roofers who ripped off the old siding, then the siders. They even trampled my fencing which I used to protect my tulips. Brats. It was a garden disaster. Not to fear though. It's only the top growth that gets destroyed, nothing below. The soil does get pretty compacted. I do not like the "claw" - it doesn't work for me because I'm too short. I can't get enough leverage with it. So I used a long handled cultivator with sharp tines that is along the same idea. It did a nice job loosening the soil. Cut off anything that got broken, and loosen the soil a little. You'll be fine next year....See MoreWow! Y'all will never guess what happened in my yard today...
Comments (9)It has been so nice not to have to water every week, I've only used my soaker hose a few times this year and have hand watered the rest. We've had some nice rain the past few days and my plants were needing the rain. I've lost some plants from to much rain earlier in the summer and some have suffered from lack of sunshine not blooming or not growing at all....See MoreGuess what happened at joanns today!
Comments (15)It really is fun to get involved with other people in fabric shops. I recently helped a lady pick a backing and binding for the wonderful quilt she had made for her granddaughter, that was very fun and rewarding. If you Google "woven quilts" you'll find a really cool book detailing technique, it's called "Simply Stunning Woven Quilts". I used her method to make a small mug rug, I wanted a tablecloth effect and it worked really well. Thanks to your photo and the other link posted, I now feel like weaving something else! Here is a link that might be useful: The book-...See MoreMy dream home - Kirstie's House
Comments (29)Natal, I never would have posted the link had it not had pink, green and white flowing freely through the house. That's the charm about it. She drew outside the lines for a change and it's not the same cookie cutter house that many of us have. Pharoah, wallpaper will never go out of style. Some of the prettiest rooms are wallpapered, especially bedrooms and baths. I'm glad Kirstie isn't one to follow trends. Neither am I, which is why I like the house so much. My bathroom is pink and green, and it's wallpapered in a tiny pink and green floral pattern. It's very calming, IMO....See MoreTerri_PacNW
