Installing Undermount Sink -- 30" ok for 30" Cabinet?

Looking to install a double bowl undermount sink beneath a quartz countetop. The sink cabinet is 30" (28.75" inside width).
Is it possible to install a 30" stainless steel double bowl undermount sink within my cabinet?

My 30" sink cabinet has an inside width of 28.75". From the following undermount sink diagram below you will see the sink has a basin width of 28" (13.5 + 1 + 13.5), enough to slide into the cabinet, with 1" overhang lip on the left and right. This lip would rest overtop the top of the cabinet.

The #s look good for this approach, dont you agree?

UPDATE: The following photos were found online of someone who had the same idea. Notice he has the 30" undermount laying overtop his cabinet edges. Then in second pic he lays the countertop. I'm trying to understand what is the problem with this approach if the #s add up for my 30" cabinet with 28.75" inner width. Cant i do the same thing without worry? Is there some problem i'm missing here? For the record i'd still be using undermount clips/clamps along the front and backside of the sink to secure it to the bottom of the quartz countertop, just not along the left and right side which are sandwiched between the cabinet ledge and the underside of the countertop.

Yes, however, I'd suggest a low divide sink. I'm constantly replacing perfectly fine double bowl sinks. Nobody wants them anymore.

You may have to recess the top of the cabinet sides to accommodate the sink flange thickness. The sink flange and cabinet tops must be flush.

Abandon this idea, please. Install a Hercules Universal Sink Harness (Braxton Bragg) or Sink Strap or two (Regent Stone Products) to the cabinet sides, then place your sink. Run a bead of silicone around the flange, set the stone, place a bar clamp through a 2x4 spanning the cut-out and drain hole, tighten the clamp and adjust the sink. When the reveals are perfect and you've got lots of nice silicone squeeze-out, tighten the harness/strap(s) and pull the clamp.

Have you looked at the spec sheets on the website? I clicked on the first one and the spec sheet came up. It gives a graphic with measurements and states specifically the cabinet size it is made to fit. HTH! Here is a link that might be useful: C-Tech sinks

Well it's all about dimensions. If the ID of the cabinet is greater than the OD of the sink + space for the clips (that hold the sink to the underside of the cabinet) then it will work.

I disagree with Joseph. A 30" cabinet is not 30" inside. A so-called 30" sink indeed need close to 30" to mount. It may not fit. Fortunately, Melody has a 27" sink, not a 30" one. It should fit no problem in her cabinet. If by "dishwasher outlet" you're talking about the receptacle for the dishwasher, as long as the plug will fit into it and you can reach it, it should be OK. If the plug itself is the disconnect, it's required to be visible to the guy working on the dishwasher, but a unplugged-plug is going to be pretty easy to see even if the receptacle itself isn't. The other thing to consider (since this was in the plumbing in addition to the electrical forum) is to make sure whatever disposal/tailpiece you're using will meet up with the drain line from the dishwasher.

I have an undermount Blanco Stellar 28" stainless steel sink, with drain offset to the center rear; this was the largest sink for a 30" cabinet that I found at the time - I wanted the offset drain to maximize the storage space underneath. The product description says it requires a 33" cabinet, but it fits nicely into my 30" cabinet. I have a garbage disposal, and a soap dispenser too. The sink is plenty big enough for cookie sheets (26" interior length!) I am very happy with it. BTW with the offset, center drain/garbage disposal, I have room on one side for a pullout for the trash and recycling (from Rev-a-shelf), and a shallower pullout on the other side (because of piping in the rear of that side, from Target) that holds the compost pail (the small Ikea stainless steel step-open trash can), sponges, cleanser, and so forth. I also added an Ikea Variera pullout- about 5" w 21" d 4" t -- that attached to the side wall of the cabinet, for sundries like an small extension cord, tape, tape measure. Unfortunately I don't think Ikea offers that anymore - but perhaps something similar is out there somewhere.
