Comments (24)Paul and mjmisgka concerning "my special soil mix". It's material that I can get easily from a friend of mine who owns a small organic farm and nursery just a block from my home. I can't say that this mix has or provides any special effects on the trees but using it through the years I can't complain. Depending on the amount I need at the time the amounts of each ingredient varies. If I am using my large contractors wheelbarrow then I use three buckets full of the Mircle Grow potting soil like in the photos above. CanÂt forget that I also add two shovels of old (aged) sheep manure. To that I add one full bucket of course sand two buckets of mushroom soil and a half of bag of the planting mix (large bag) that my nursery friend sells. I don't recall the name of it but it is a mixture of fine and course particles. Almost like small pieces of bark. He usually sells out of that very quickly in early spring. That's the reason I have none on hand at this time. I do also add a shovel full of fast acting lime and using that shovel I mix it all together. That is enough mix for one twenty gallon tub plus a couple of small containers that I might need filling for trees that need to be moved to a little larger size container. Hope this answers your question. Lou NE., PA...See MoreI Don't Know What I Don't Know About Mini Fridges
Comments (9)Hi Plllog! "That is, I know it's possible, but might not be in your budget." See, there's the crux of it. This little beverage center idea of mine was not in the original budget. (Nor, alas, were new drywall in the livingroom and halls, the gorgeous walnut top on my used cabinet island, the matching gorgeous top that will soon be on the new media cabinet and the near full gut of the bathroom.) And we're still determined to get through remodeling our ugly duckling without taking out a loan or dipping into savings. Conventional wisdom says: Wait until the coffers are full again but that's so hard to do. First off, I'm a cheapskate. Even if the goose who laid the golden egg waddled up onto my deck and built a nest, I'm not sure I would willingly pay someone to mess up the walls I just paid to fix. Second, I'm not quite cheap enough. My new kitchen is starting to look pretty good but, gosh, it would look so much better if the microwave and coffee maker didn't take up so much room on that one counter. I'm willing to spend a little bit more to change that, especially since I'm going to have a piece of countertop leftover that should be just the right size. Still, it's nice to know that it's possible. Maybe when the coffers ARE full again I'll put a tile counter outside on my deck to shade the golden goose should she happen to wander by ;) Thanks for your help!...See MoreI don't care about grammar and spelling....
Comments (30)I'm just blowing off steam here but after working in the public for 30 plus years...what does bother me is critisizing someone's dialect or the way they speak...we are a melting pot here in the US and i've learned never to critique the way someone speaks...I grew up in Southern Indiana, then moved to a large city when I was 12...I was called a hick because of the slow laidback dialect I had from living in the country on a farm for the first 12 years of my life...then I left and became a flight attendant...I lived in Atlanta for a month, back to Chicago for a month, then Houston for two years, back to Indiana for four years and have been in Georgia for the past 27...We merged with a very northern company based out of Minneapolis 3 years ago and there has been some heated issues with the merger...several of the Minneapolis based gals were in the lunch line with us one day and started making fun of the southern accents...I pretty much told them..."I grew up two hours south of Chicago, but I learned to speak SUTHIN when I moved here 26 years ago"...you know....when in Rome...it shut them right up...I've also called some of my family members on it...one of them actually accused me of faking my accent...OMG...I have better things to do then fake an accent... Sorry...didn't mean to ruffles anyones feathers...I've gotten really good at pinpointing where someone is from just listening to the words they use...it makes them feel special...so go on and PAK that CAH...youse guys from Chicago...like well I do love living in LAX...your voice and dialect just tells me where y'all hail from!!...See MoreRed thread or not? on my back lawn which I don't care much about...
Comments (1)It's possible. Can you bring the camera up to 3 inches away? Take the picture in the shade or on a cloudy day with no flash. What is your watering regimen? How often and for how long do you water? Or how often have you been getting rain?...See Moresummersrhythm_z6a
