I can say I might trump you on living in a dreary area! I'd buy some 4 poster boards from Michael's or where ever you have locally cut them in half so you have 8 pieces to sample 2 colors. Leave a 2" border of white all the way around and paint the rest with any of the colors you choose or any I have mentioned. I'd go for City Loft or Aesthetic White. Shoji is another that will lean slightly gray, but I didn't sample it as I'm familiar with it in other spaces and for my space and furnishings in the eat in sunroom I knew it would not work. It really is a lot of work, but to get it right.... You have some interesting colors and the only way to know is to try even though it's a pain. I'm not done, but here is a photo of Aesthetic white in my sunroom. TALK ABOUT DREARY and you can see high it leans a bit slight gray. I cropped the photo as this is the only spot I have 2 coats to have you best see. The room has three taller windows left and right with a paned single door to the backyard and on the back wall 4 large paned windows so there is a lot of light in this space. As you move in to the kitchen it's not as bright, but the light from the sunroom toward the kitchen makes the paint look a pinch lighter more like the bottom of the photo. I hope it helps you and as I mentioned paint can change from room to room. I found it a nice compromise I was very torn between Egret and City Loft and Aesthetic White all having slight nuances that differ, yet barely. I had used Aesthetic in an office I did recently and loved it so I tried in in my home and well.... I do love it and will use it more in the future.

I’ve been hoping for SW Silverpointe and SW Passive to have a color baby and I think BM Oystershell just might be that offspring! Maybe. :) Oystershell lands deeper into the Green-Yellow (GY) Hue Family. It's closer to Greeen (G) and it's lighter and brighter - look at Value and LRV to compare lightness and brightness. Passive has the least amount of Chroma out of the 3. Which could explain the blueness. Chroma quantifies colorfulness/grayness, clean/dirty, vivid/dull

@MarylandHomebody that's true about the shirt, but we painted our kitchen Simply White and it looked green. We were painting over the previous owners dark green so of course at first we thought it was that. So we primed and painted again and still green. I hated it. Eventually we went with Opaline the same color we'd painted in the living and dining room. It's the palest blue/green/grey color. I love it and it completely got rid of the ugly shade of green we were seeing that I eventually figured out was a result of our green evergreens outside. I wouldn't have wanted to live with that ugly pea/yellow green and am so glad we repainted and didn't just take somebody else's opinion that it looks good when I knew inside it did not look good to us as that's ultimately what matters.

And we have a cat named Bella, which would be a strange reason to paint our whole house Bella Blue, but still... ;) @cat_ky, thanks for the input on the reddish trim. It's funny, my husband hates it but I have liked it. (We bought the house this way so did not select the colors.) @Circus Peanut, thanks for these suggestions. I will check out Bunglehouse Blue on the visualizer. @Greta Greite, what would be your first choice? We don't want something completely neutral like tan or gray. Our street is very eclectic - lots of grays and tans but here and there there's a bright teal house, a dark red house, a yellow house, etc. @Angela Tollefson, I'm excited to check out Newburg Green. I would've been misled by the "green" in the title (just like "Gentleman's Gray" is actually blue, it seems). @Sabrina Alfin, I love the ideas about boxing out the posts. The paint altogether came off of the cedar as it is, so it's only a matter of time before that happens once we repaint. Thank you, all! And if others have more ideas, too, I'm happy to hear them.
