What about us guys that don't have forced air
Comments (38)agreed, well said. I am in total agreement with snidely's comment: "Understand that in regions where many of us live, ground source heat pump installations are ridiculously expensive to buy and operate compared to available alternatives and the cost differences are huge. Cheaper prices would lead to more popularity, but until and unless that happens, such equipment will remain a small segment of the hvac market." in my 15 years in the efficiency business, I have had many clients who started their building process who wanted ground source heat pumps. By the time they figured out the actual costs & reliability of install, air source heat pump was the upgrade they chose. here in La. in my part of the state, the nearest ground source heat pump hvac company is 75 miles away. as they only do the install of the equipment, other parts are sub'd out locally. one company digging loops or verticals, the installer is over an hour away. cost of gshp is comparable several air source heat pumps. gshp@ $8,000 per ton...puts this install out of range of many homeowners in La. in my 15 years, not one client has chosen this equipment install. not that it isn't good equipment, performance & savings...but install cost is outrageous. I have a friend in Ok who's gshp install was $4000 per ton. for her 2 ton system..it was affordable with a reasonable payback. and installer was local to her, and experienced. just my experience with gshp vs ashp in La....See MoreRepair Guy - HELP!!! QuadDE.......
Comments (19)Get a load of this one....the plumber came this morning to "reinstall" the QuadDE. He backwashed what he could I guess, luckily I used the Aquaperl. Then he checked and all 4 cartridges are blown. So he hooks everything back up and of course, I end up with whatever wasn't backwashed, in my pool!! Good grief!! He says he was going to try to get his sales rep to fedex the 4 cartridges for tomorrow (doubtful IMO). I then asked him about the connector for the 2sp pump. He really didn't say much. He then headed to his truck and I went to the water to test it. He comes back with a switch, which I thought was mine and I said "that is what my plug was missing, so can you hook it up?" He tells me that wasn't my plug. That was a spare he had in the truck. I asked him to show me how it would go in the pump, so he unscrewed the backplate, and low and behold.....the connector was there and he told me all the electrician HAD to do was connect the wires, except that there was nothing there to connect the last few days!!! That slime-ball had put it back on when I was inside and he was working on the filter. I have no idea why he would take it to begin with, but I did not even say it was not there last night, and I have the pictures to prove it. I just left it as is. Unbelievable experience we are having here...never will we put in another pool. Thank goodness for those, like repairguy, who dedicate some of their time on this forum so we can get the CORRECT information. BTW - we do not have a clock at all right now. I will be sure to find someone who knows and UNDERSTANDS the diagrams since the electrician had a difficult time with our SWG. Do you happen to have any good diagrams for the P1353ME that you can post? Thanks for ALL of your help repair guy....See MoreGuys FW has valentine pomelo and bouquet de fleurs IN STOCK!!!
Comments (47)Brian and Dev, thanks for the welcome. I've been lurking a while and have learned so much from all the experts here. Discovered I was doing everything wrong so maybe I'll finally get some fruit now after years of lots of blooms but no fruit ;-) And yes the Costcos here started selling citrus about five years ago for about half of what the garden centers were charging. Unfortunately they haven't really added different varieties although 2 years ago they brought in olive trees. Don't like olives so I passed but they were beautiful looking. Haven't seen them again....See MoreWhat do you guys think about this sideboard?
Comments (78)Sueb, it looks great! I love that it has some height to it for mixing drinks or serving platters. Initially I liked the first painting even though it was dark, bc I liked how it had green and the wall was green and then the bottom half of the wall was red with the cabinet and rug. But the second print looks so much better bc of how bright it makes it look. The first was definitely a dark hole. There is some extra room on the sides of the print but I kind of like it. Maybe see what kind of items will sit on the cabinet before adding more art. In case you have a tall something. You did great!...See MoreRelated Professionals
