Scored this beautiful, HUGE kangaroo paw fern at a yard sale for $5! The owner said he's been dividing it for years (the divisions were much larger and fuller). He gave me a discount since she's somewhat sad looking and suggested I divide her into smaller pots. Could someone tell me how to go about doing that with these funky roots?

The current pot is 15" in diameter. I have no idea what the soil is but there is a layer of very dry sphagnum moss on top. Would love to help this girl out!
