Comments (1)OMG! I'm glad you're OK! Yes, proper hydration is absolutely critical when outside. As is protection from sunlight. I wear the ugliest fedora when outside, but it does a good job at UV protection and at keeping my head cooler....See More911 - Transplanted mandarine tree
Comments (10)DM: When you transplanted the tree did you soaked the soil enough so the water was running everywhere? The purpose of flooding the tree the first time you water is to let the root hairs cling to the soil so there is no air gap between them so they can establish and suck in the nutrients again from the soil. If you have not done it do so now. But do it only once. Then you let it go. don't water again until the top soil is almost dry. The way to do it is get a hose and run it in full force and dip the hose as deep as you can about a foot away from the trunk. When you see the water is coming out from the hole move it about a third distance away from the first hole. Do it once again a third distance away around the tree. You want to make sure no air bubbles is left under the soil so the remaining roots can once again get in contact with the soil and feed the remaining leaves. You will have a leaf lose if the remaining roots can not feed all the leaves and that's the reason why you cut the branches in the first place. The branches that you cut will be replaced with perhaps double the number in 6 months. And more growth height if you follow what we tell you....See Morestrokes
Comments (15)Wow. What a great outcome. You two are blessed. Really? What perfect timing!!! 'Mom' has Heart Failure, Afib with renal damage. She has been under the weather for three weeks... Had to run her to hospital for dehydration shortly after my Florida trip. We had an Eco cardio gram last week but still waiting to hear from the Doctor (!!???). She is always confused, doesn't walk well (some days are worse than others) and hates drinking fluids. I have to force her to drink while I stand and watch her. Stroke and dehydration often mirror the same symptoms, as far as I can tell. Can't wait for the Dr to call. I phoned him twice Friday but he didn't respond. I'm frustrated because they canceled her first Cardio gram and pushed it out 9 days. She had it last Tuesday and I have yet to hear anything... We had a gastro bug go through the house Friday and Saturday. I was only able to bark orders to DH. " Make her drink pedalite.,". "Give her water and watch her dink it..." "What color is her urine?". Poor DH. Today she is still dehydrated but holding everything down. Feeding her celery and other water bearing foods along with Smart Water. Sorry to take over the thread but I am wondering if anyone can tell me how to know if it's a stroke or dehydration? It seems dehydration can lead to stroke... Also, she is taking water pills for her heart. Seems like an oxymoron to make her take water pills when she is dehydrated... (So many questions for the absent Dr.)...See MoreSANSEVIERIA 9-1-1 Horrific soggy death leaf came out of nowhere
Comments (4)Fungus got into the base of that leaf and spread. Lucky it's only one leaf. Check the rest of the plant to see if there is any more rot starting. Keeping dry is the best treatment for now. Plants have the ability to heal itself. Cinnamon never worked for me but power sulfur does. Only if it seems to get worse. I would also bottom water it so not to get water on the base of the leaves. Was it exposed to cold? Sounds like you did all you could to find out why....See MoreBridgett Gooden
