Hi Dee, I wish it was a Dischidia! But its not. These flowers are almost an inch and a half long and are not consistant with any wax flower. They are true soft petaled flowers, almost like a fuschia the way they pop out. I have shown this plant to an expert on Hoya and Dischidia and its neither. Its some sort of tropical vine, I am suspecting a South American origin.

I'm sure it's nummularioides. I got a beautiful large EA basket earlier in the summer and it has stayed gorgeous. Good thing because a nummulariodes I ordered from an online vendor came with about 3 sticks that promptly died. Funny thing, i paid about the same for those sticks as I did for the gorgeous EA basket. I've never tried to contact Costa Farms but they have been putting out some great baskets of plants this summer. There is never a name, not even hoya. I believe they grow plants only for Lowes and HD. Susan

Patrick, I try to be serious when I post information. I would hope it's correct. I feel bad when I give someone bad info. It ends up to be mind-boggling to me. I know there is so much confusion in naming them, as I have bought a few that were sold as one thing and then I ended up having, sometimes, two or more of the same one. I then pot them up together. Then down the road, I discover that they are not the same. When that happens I just leave them alone, take out the name tag, and note it in my database what it was sold as.

If you plan to put it outside, keep it in a shady spot. Inside, an east or west window is good, close to the window - sun through a window isn't nearly as intense as sun outside. If the plant takes up water ok, I wouldn't worry about repotting it. However, I'll make a couple points. I'm assuming this is an EA (Exotic Angel) plant since you got it at Lowes. EA plants aren't in the best soil, and I find the best way to water them (and I actually do this with a lot of my bigger plants, even ones in my own soil) is to take down, put over your sink or tub and water until it flows out of the drainage holes. Wait 20 min to half an hour, then repeat. If it feels nice and heavy at that point, it's ok to put back in its spot. However, I sometimes wait another 20 minutes and do it again. Sometimes with that first watering, the water flows around the outside of the pot and isn't absorbed much in the middle. It can take two or three waterings with a big pot to get the whole rootball watered. Another point I'll make is that if it's dry just a couple 2-3 days later, that means it IS time to repot. Here's my brevialata for comparison... I lost my big one last fall, so this is a new one for me.
