Backsplash: any pics of White Subway Tile with Gray Grout?
Comments (6)As glad posted, we used gray grout, but I'm not sure what kind or what color. The tile guy just presented me with the choices and I picked one. I didn't write down what it was. I used flat white subway tiles in the upstairs bedrooms and the first tile guy I had grouted it white (after I had repeatedly told our builder I wanted gray grout). To me, it looked terrible. To me, the pattern is the point of the subway tile and if you don't use a contrasting grout the pattern is lost. Needlesstosay, the tile guy had to dig out all the white grout and start over. We had a new and much better tile guy by the time we got to the kitchen and the laundry....See MoreWhat color white grout for white subway tile
Comments (11)kegrant- I too would love to see photos and do post on what you finally decide. I too have simply white cabinets (ikea lidingo) and soapstone counters and am leaning towards white subways with white or possibly silvery gray grout (DH's preference) but everyone who looks at my kitchen says you want to add more white?!?! I am pretty confident I will love the look, but photos are always better. Best of luck to you in your search!...See MoreWhite subway tile and white octagon & dot tile- Grout help!
Comments (2)The TCNA standards; for all grout joints 1/8" and over use sanded grout. For all grout joints 1/8" and under, use non sanded. You can see at 1/8" you have a choice. Where possible we always use sanded grout as it is stronger than non sanded. Have you looked into Fusion Pro (Custom Blend), Plasma (Laticrete), or Flexcolor CQ (Mapei) as a grout? They are virtually stain proof and require no sealing. SUre they will get dirty, but the color will always be perfect....See MoreGrey grout with creamy-white subway tile?
Comments (10)kats737, we just got our own set of lovely old-house surprises...turns out every renovation the prior owners made was made in the shoddiest way possible. Big holes cut into major beams...An entire 3rd floor shower held up by a few unconnected pieces of plywood and a whole bunch of plaster...Kitchen floor laminate put directly on rotted floor...we've basically had to gut 3/4 of the place. It's gonna be amazing when we're done, but I'm really not loving the prior owners at the moment. Or our home inspector! Mizlizzie, your bathroom is beautiful, thanks for posting! I'm going to go ahead with my creamy tiles and stop worrying about this one....See MoreLara Branen
