discussion on vessel sink and need help finding right vessel sink
Comments (10)Well, its been over a month and Alice has not posted her pictures, tee hee! Personally, I have fallen in love with the vessel sinks. I saw them for the first time a few years ago in an upscale restaurant (in red). Then, I saw them offered in clear glass which I thought would be hard to keep clean and shiny with no waterspots. But since then I've discovered them in granite and have fallen in love with different colors and veining. My daughter and I have a plan to get one in the bathroom on her level. We are replacing a 4 foot vanity that has some water damage and in other ways is past its prime. I have access to a brand new 4 foot vanity with no top. I'd like to get a piece of granite (and if not granite I'll settle for 6" ceramic tiles) and cut a hole in to partially recess a granite vessel sink. I have found several on eBay that are very affordable....See MoreHelp! Replacing top mount kitchen sink
Comments (4)I am hoping you bought another top mounted sink. If no one has told you, while you can trade an undermount for a top mount the reverse isn't true. This is true for a couple of reasons. Under-mounted sinks do not always have holes for faucets while top mounted sinks generally do. That means a top mounted sink is generally MUCH smaller from front to back. So, to replace a top mounted sink with an undermounted one would leave a empty strip where the faucets USED TO BE. The granite guys don't normally finish the edges of the sink cut out AND they can leave the cut out very rough. If the blanco were a little larger that the cut out, you could try to have the granite guys come back, tidy up the edge and polish it BEFORE you install the sink. If it is the top mounted version, take the blanco out of the box. There should be a template in there or stamped on the box. It should show the cutout and the actual top edge of the sink rim. Lay the cutout on top of the kohler - carefully aligning the two front corners of the template sink rim to your actual sink. Tape down gently - remembering you might need to remove the template completely intact. On one side, match the rear corner of the template rim to your Kohler - it should be the same. Unless the Blanco uses some arcane clip system, you should be ok if the BOWL is a little smaller, but not if the rim is materially different....See MoreStainless Sink in Acrylic Cutout
Comments (1)Julien sinks...probably a few other lines .....smaller niche sink companies will look at a particular request I think they'll just make what you need. Do you have a smaller cabinet/counter company locally where they do some customization for size constraints...they probably know how to source the right sink ...... they have different and faster search capability. .........I wouldn't just go to Kohler..Elkay websites etc but rather work with your local professionals who have done this before...I'm sure you can get it....See MoreDesperately need help finding a sink that will fit this granite ounter
Comments (1)I'd try asking at a real plumbing supply place, they can probably search for you based on the size. You can also have the hole made bigger or reshaped fairly reasonably by a granite fabricator (or DIY if you're up for a mess). Making it smaller would be harder ;-)...See MorePrinceton Home Center LLC
