Only three months until fresh strawberries will be available here. No grocery store strawberries or cake instead of very short biscuits for a strawberry shortcake in my house! And yes, that is heavy cream.

Ice has tipped the trees on this day after storm. It's very windy and outside, you can hear the ice on the trees crackling in the wind.

Great and yummy-looking photos today. Got to the last and forgot to "like" anything, as is typical some mornings when I'm not fully ready for the day. But I liked them mentally as viewing, if that counts!

Yes, the t-shirt is big, OJ. I believe an XL or even XXL. It's too big for us, but fits the box just fine.

The tea cozy was purchased four years ago from a seller on Etsy. She had so many to choose from it was difficult.

Not trying to get all excited, but there will be a strawberry festival within the next two weeks near my house in Florida. Want them fresh? C'mon down.

I remember a post where we were discussing anxious or nervous kitties and strategies to help them feel calmer. The t-shirt box is a simple, inexpensive and quick way to provide a quiet space for a cat that feels the need to isolate for a minute. I think it was Jasdip's post, but not 100% positive on that.

We went to the plant city Strawberry Festival last year. We bought several flats of berries over to Parksdale Farm. We found the best berries were the first ones ripe,. the last ones of the season weren't as sweet we didn't think. We plan on being back in Florid this December.

Norar, now that's a strawberry shortcake. Looks delicious. Can you tell me how you make your strawberry juice look so great? As for the heavy creamOH YESSS

As a child growing up in a rural area, I missed out on many city benefits. But one advantage we had was an abundance of wild strawberries. DM would get us outdoors foraging for the berries and our reward was sugared strawberries with a very ample pour of freshly churned cream. I have never since tasted strawberries that were so delicious.

I just cut off the stems and squash them some with a potato masher, add the sugar and let them sit at room temp while making the shortcake. Then I split the hot biscuits, butter them, pile berries on the bottom half, put on the top half and repeat. Pour on the cream and serve while still warm. DH wants ice cream on his and I think he's nuts!
