TV Hidden in Coffee Table: Looking for sources or DIY tutorials

Cheryl Hewitt

Our living room is awkwardly arranged and I'd like to put our TV over our fireplace, but my BF isn't too keen on the idea. He's concerned that it'll be a neck strain and truth be told I also have a bit of concern over this. However, in the winter our couches have to set at 90 degree angles to the TV which is also a neck strain. In the summer we turn our full-sized couch so that it's facing the TV with the fireplace directly behind the couch. In the winter we move it away from the fireplace so that it doesn't block the heat and doesn't hurt the leather of the couch.

Today I saw an idea that may work for us; a TV hidden inside a coffee table.

We'd need to scale it smaller.

My Google skills have failed to find retail sources for something like this. I'm not sure if I'm using the correct keywords, or if there really isn't much out there. I'd appreciate any help the hive could provide. I'm not opposed to DIY if that's our only option. TIA
