Got the Chairs~ Plus Dining Table Refinishing *After* Pics
Comments (8)trailrunner, my friend also said she likes it black (the table legs). If I could photoshop I could try it out in white before I paint it. I really want to get away from the black but it might be better. For the table it just had paint on the bare wood. sanded it with orbital sander (took 3 or 4 days) and then applied 4 thin coats of water based polyurethane (sanding in between coats) and waiting a day between each coat. No stain thanks for your encouragement! I see what you mean about the tile not being french country but it does have going for it .. it is neutral. I hadn't wanted to put a rug under the table because it is just such a PIA to clean the rug. Right now it is soo easy care but you aren't the first one to mention a rug so the space must need it LOL I like persian rugs in blue and yellow. there are a few I like Or a natural sisal or jute. But now that I think about it with the tile being natural.. a natural color rug on top of it won't be adding much! But then again, it could work. How about the table legs And the bench a butter yellow? Or the table legs and the bench white? If the table Legs And the bench were both in white .. Then I go do this large hutch piece for the other side of the fireplace in the painted yellow? I gotta have something painted the yellow LOL plus I am planning to get white painted counter stools for the breakfast bar this is so hard. I am not good with so many choices and decisions. thanks for your tips, Loretta...See MoreGot a Great Deal today on CL for a couple of PB chairs
Comments (13)ronbre: You know that is exactly what I thought as well. It looks just like the other chair with the Oak and walnut stain. I checked the chair bottoms again just now and it actually does say Oak, Walnut just like the earlier one I had. Go figure. Since I got on CL, I really don't know if PB changed the chairs at some point from Oak to Maple or both sellers forgot what type they bought and checked the PB website. They no longer make an Oak, Walnut chair and it does look closest to the Maple, Mahogany. In a way it's a fortunate coincidence since I never would've bought the second chair if I knew they were the same (stickers were in a different spot)--but the swivel mechanisms are so much smoother on these new chairs....See MoreWhat is your office chair?
Comments (24)There was a store that carried them in a neighboring, larger city so I did have the opportunity to try it out. I ended up ordering it online. I believe that Herman Miller only has an annual sale on their products, which expired on the 11th. By ordering online I was able to save on another trip, get free shipping and saved on sales tax as well. I'm eager to get it as I'm really ready to get rid of the chair I currently use. I think it is likely that you will have to find a place in a larger city that carry the more expensive chairs mentioned. I have never seen them in a place like Office Depot or Staples....See MoreFree CL 'office chair' re-do, just for fun!
Comments (26)Brilliant, as always! I have a chair with a similar type of back sitting in my garage right now, with the fabric removed as of this morning. I was thinking of you, because I wonder if you just figured it out yourself or used some kind of online tutorial to re-cover your chairs? The previous owner of my chair nailed the fabric to the back of the chair with the frayed edges exposed. I'm a beginner but I think I can do better than that! I was thinking I'd fold the edges under, then use (what? small upholstery nails?) to attach the fabric, and then cover the rows of nails with some kind of trim....See More- 8 years ago
