Comments (2)spot on mel ... the first thing i did way back when .. was run spigots all over the 5 acres.. like spigots at a cemetery ... placed them about every 50 feet ... so that i could cover most of the garden with one 75 foot hose.. rather than dragging 450 feet of hose i was using the first year ... i dont know what you won .. value wise.. but consider investing a little extra cash.. to live your dream.. if necessary ... in a typical suburban rectangle yard.. i would suggest one spigot on each side.. plus the one at the house ... personally .. i skipped electronics... when i get too old to go turn on the water.. i may as well give up the garden ... hosta will need more than the grass ... but other plants will need less .. etc ... i never bothered to figure out how fancy of a computer you would need.. and how many miles of wire ... to custom fit individual bed water requirements ... time the lawn ... but not the gardens is probably the way to go ... ken...See MoreFaucets being installed right now! Comments (5)Kgwilsa - Do you know whether they (typically) use adhesive to keep it in place? I wonder if I'll find a bunch of sticky goo if I remove it. I've contacted the foreman of my build to see if he can look into this and find out why the plumbers put it there. Thanks! try_hard...See MoreRecommend a good safety cover & cover installer in NJ???
Comments (6)Scott...Remember, I already contacted you first through the board a while ago. You came out, gave us a good price, came back again a month later, were supposed to confirm the price and come back to do the A-B measurements 2 days later. But you didn't come when you said you would, and that was weeks ago. Then nothing. No response to my calls or emails, (and I tried a bunch of times)and we were set to order. I really don't know what happened....See Moregot countertops installed yesterday, now i'm sooo overwhelmed!
Comments (53)I agree that it's the orangy-gold-yellowy paint that seems to be throwing everything off. I wonder what a warm blue might do for the room? It may be a bit tricky to get the right shade - you need enough warmth for the cabinets, but your counter reads slightly cooler. With the garnets that are in your counter, you could pick up the reddish-wine color and use that as an accent...that can work well with a blue. Usually with colors it seems like it's more about getting the right undertones rather than the right color family. You've got oak cabinets - I'm assuming they aren't going anywhere for a while, so you need to make peace with them. I think that with the right paint color, you can make the cabinets and the granite work. There is always the gel-stain option and if changing them I'd probably look that route. I don't think that painting the oak is a good idea since it tends to look like...painted oak. And that's a look that I really don't care for. You mentioned that the ceiling is changing - does that mean that you're putting in some can lighting as well as the pendants? I like the linear tiles...but not with your cabinets. Their style is more contemporary/transitional than what I think your cabinets can muster...the cabinets have a much more traditional look so you might do better with something a bit more classic in the tile line....See Moregltrap54
