Comments (19)Brunosonia: Maybe it depends on the skill of your fabricator. If you are talking about engineered quartz like the Caesarstone we have on two bath vanities and kitchen cabinets, I never heard anything at all about it being hard to fabricate. We have full Greek bullnose ogee edges -- double laminated edges (invisible seam) are in baths (making edge look 1-1/2" thick) and an invisible triple laminated edge in kitchen (is 2-1/4" thick). Polished shine is perfect all around! Granted the sink cutouts were done at the fabricator's shop, but all the faucet holes (9 all together) were done after the product was installed and no problems were encountered at all and it didn't take any time to drill those holes either. We were not charged extra for drilling holes, cutouts or the beautiful edge finishes....See MoreBathtub damaged by countertop installers - what to expect?
Comments (6)Our installers somehow managed to put a crack in the tub surround at our vacation place. I'm assuming it's acrylic or maybe it's fiberglass, but this was a one piece unit - tub with shower. Our builder assured us that we would never notice the repair and said he'd replace it if we could point out where the crack had been. We had nothing to lose so we approved the repair. He was right. It's been almost 20 years and we've never been able to discover where the crack was. Someone bumped my DH's 50th anniversary Corvette and left a nasty little gash along the side. Our Chevy dealer promised us that after coming out of the shop it would look pristine - and he was right too. So I hope your tub looks brand new when they're done! Comments (148)Sorry, we haven't decided on a new countertop & backsplash. I very much think that Impeccable, or very similar Silestone Ehtereal Glow, would go great in our kitchen with the light wood grain cabinets. Burt my wife then disagreed since she wants all grey or silver veining as opposed to the grey and beige veins. So, we haven't done anything yet....See MoreMSI quartz sample does not match installed counter tops
Comments (23)Yes you're right! So I had the old Carrara marmi and they were getting a new lot in June that would be whiter so I think that ended up being the difference. They said the company switched manufacturers and the whole lot they had received was the off white tone of marmi. It's identical to the first picture! I had no idea there was a new vs old. Luckily they were very helpful and are allowing me to pick out any quartz from the show room and replace it for $300 whichever I choose. I could have gotten the new marmi but I would have to wait until June when it comes in. This felt like a great option to me though as the higher up quartz was not really in my price range at all. So I am happy with that and I got to look through many different styles of white quartz slabs in the warehouse and bring a few home to decide. They are going to replace the whole thing. Now I just have to choose between Cararra Morro and Calacutta Clara!...See MoreCraftsman Seeker
