There was a small fungus on the top of this baby Euphorbia ammak when it was only a few inches tall (sorry no photo of the fungus). I let it dry out but other than that I didn't do anything to 'fix the problem'. Now I have an interesting new growth. Many new branches and maybe a cristate branch. Normally these get a few feet tall before any branching occurs. Granted there is no more fungus, but I am convinced it was the cause of all this excessive branching.

WOW! Somehow I missed this post back in February, but I couldn't resist commenting on that fabulous plant! I assume that is T. molinensis, right? I just got a couple of cuttings this year in trade of that species (and a few other Tephro species), so I hope some day mine can treat me to such a display! Luckily, I think my Tephrocactus articulatus v. diadematus f. inermis (say THAT 10x fast!) survived the freezes this winter pretty well. The same can't be said for my T.a. var papyracanthus....but, the freeze didn't get it, the landscapers did...accidentally. Grrr... I guess that means I have to make another trip to the nurseries in Tucson. Oh darn. ; )

Davide! Your first plant is so similar with that Tunilla chilensis, but I think it's not exactly that. The second one I guess Neoporteria taltalensis. Wait for its first flower, then better to ID. N.talatalensis has beautiful pink flowers, N.jusseui has peach and N.paucicostata has almost white

Your Senecio needs more light. Your plant will not shrink back. I would suggest cleaning it up. When spring comes cut all the spindly etiolated parts off. You can break pieces off if too long. Just stick those pieces back into soil. Eventually roots will form.Might be a good idea to take it out of pot to inspect the roots. If everything looks fine repot in a fast draining mix. I suggest getting some perlite or pumice. Do a mixture of 50% perlite or pumice and 50% C&S soil. Now when it comes to light you will probably always have this problem, unless you get supplemental lighting during the cooler months. I don't use lights so can't help ya there. Would be a good idea if every once in awhile you start to see your plant reaching for the window to give it a turn. So the plant can get light on all sides. Hope that helped.
