Fun-C is the Goddess of LRV's here! But.....most of the time, with WHITES, the LRV, imo..... won't change or help much. Your lighting color-temperature, & the amount of outside light & its direction, have by far the most influence on perceived color!! Since this is for cabs & trim, I'd highly recommend a special class of paints for "Cabinets & Trim"! There are a few good brands. Faron

Looks great! Removing that pot rack made a huge difference and the floors look beautiful. Agree with chocolatesnap though, take everything down from the tops of the cabinets and leave them clean/clear from anything. Platters up there say to me the kitchen lacks the storage to store them and that is NOT what you want buyers thinking when they are standing in your lovely kitchen.

Oh Gosh! I'm going though the same thing. I'm leaning towards Simply White in my north-facing room. I know it can read really yellow in a south-facing room but a warm but still really bright in a north facing room with that cool light coming in. I'm afraid Chantilly white will read too stark. I'm painting both my bedroom and kitchen, one on top of the other with the same northern light. Also, I think of it as a color for modern spaces and I live in an old, historic house. Just not sure I can pull it off. Abbyfaye, I'd love to see your pictures! I have simply white in my hallways and like it. Is it weird to have it in my bedroom and kitchen too? I got samples from samplize and white dove comes across really greige/taupe and not very bright. I'm not loving it at all. Mystery to me why it is so popular. I'm losing my mind looking at blogs on the best white paint! Have to make a decision by Thursday!

I think it depends on what your vision of the cabinet contrast would be - a brighter white? a warmer white? Think of the cabinets as your permanent fixture in the space. That color would be chosen first. Wall colors can change and are selected after. Alabaster is a beautiful color. If it is used for ceilings and trim, it may look slightly different just using different sheens, and vertical vs horizontal but can certainly compliment together. Hope some pro's chime in, but posting photos of your space may help get better ideas.
