Dekton edge profiles

Thank you, practigal. I will talk to the counter top guy tomorrow. He never offered any other edges other than the mitered edge. I don't see an eased edge on the list, just a pencil edge which seems similar to an eased edge.

Incorrect information. Dekton surface pattern does not go all the way through. Only mitered is possible. Eased edge is a bit less than pencil. Edge eased can't be too soften before losing face pattern. Some colors are less noticable. Also special blade is needed to mitigate chipping.

Check with your fabricator. Dark colors may be a little more forgiven. By eased I mean slightly soften so not razor sharp. To what degree depends on the material.

A rabbit is possible and has advantages over a miter. The sight line of the seam is out, not up at your eye. There are no delicate and dangerous angles to fabricate and chip. It's easier and therefore less expensive to fabricate than a miter. It holds more adhesive too.

hmmm, what is a rabbit ? I googled it and did not see how it would relate to a counter top.

Maybe I'm missing something but can't see how a rabbet can work when the face and the edge are not the same. Maybe there's a special way to pull a "rabbit" out here that I'm not aware of or I need to go back to the bar and figure it out.

When you miter or rabbet veined material, you lose the thickness of the saw blade from the pattern, known as saw "kerf". The only way to keep that loss to an absolute minimum is to miter on a V-grooving machine.

No matter how a sintered edge is made, it must be profiled at least minimally. That minimum will cut through the "picture" on the top and expose the un-veined material.
