Thanks for the rug suggestions, I would have never thought to do a striped carpet. The other 2 look very nice too. I really like the suggestion for the coffee table. For the TV stand, I don't think I can get a taller one given the large picture we have above it. You pictured 2 wood TV stands, can I have a dark wood piece given my open concept and very white kitchen? We had ordered a dark wood coffee table but are returning it because it just didn't seem to go. I guess that's what I'm really stuck on, is the style of furniture we need to look for. I completely agree the console table is too small, that one was perfect in the tiny entrance of my previous home. If anyone has recommendations on dining tables and chairs that would go well in this space I would appreciate the insight. (excuse the dining room mess, all those plants are headed outside as soon as the weather warms up) As well as backsplash ideas would be great.

You have this gorgeous entryway! Simple is one thing, sparse is another. yours is sparse perfect corner spot for a nice plant in a modern holder. wood base, black or white pot. I gave you Bali looking console to put under your picture. something w/a carved wood design just fits this home. if you want a bench, then do a wood slat bench,Or a teak, Bali inspired one. keep the plant I like your photo on the wall. if you want to do a console and a mirror, try something like these. (and use the decor items, at least one or two of them too) as for the living area, those chairs just do not go w/that stunning looking room! If you want simple, then just get a simple sofa, and a few chairs. not heavy stuffed chairs. and have them face the window I think something low and simple like this, facing the view, a wood coffee table, some greenery, is all you need. You have a beautiful home. Love the display glass wall too this one has similar shelving. Just a simple sofa, a small coffee table, maybe a rug, and one or two simple chairs is all you need.

I like the general layout you have, with maybe Beverly's change to some chairs for lightness. Large end-table and lamp in the corner -- that leaves room next to the door for a smaller entry table with a drawer, if you need a place to drop mail or hide mittens. Large piece of art over the two chairs or loveseat. I'd try to use all art in this space, and keep the family photos in the more residential/private zones. You don't necessarily need decor around the TV, although some prefer it.

This is the house we are moving into. I am trying to start planning how to place furniture as it is somewhat awkward. Ideas welcome, also any advice on how to update this fireplace, take off the white trim? Paint it black? I will be adding more modern black lightning and hardware as well. Thanks in advance!
