After having built-in bookcases previously where books were ruined by sticking to the paint, we got a special kind at SW formulated so things won't stick. I can't remember the name of the formulation, and we don't have the can any more, but my advice is to keep asking at SW until you find someone who actually knows what you're talking about when you say you want paint for a bookcase. (The first person may know, but not always.) Ours are done in white.Good luck!

lazygardens that is basically what I ended up choosing today. white/gray marble looking porcelain tile; I used the same for the master shower but in my son's bath I used a plain white 6x 6 semi-gloss white tile. In the mudroom, a slate look tile. In the laundry room, I tried to do a simple black and white checkered tile, but the white wasn't brite white and I'm not sure how it will look with our brite white cabinets so we're going to get samples and see. For the guest bath, I choose a dark brown marble type porcelain with an off white porcelain in the shower broken up by a simple chair rail. Instead of brass, I went with chrome everywhere. Let's hope it all looks okay when put together.

I would recommend to tile a section of the entry ( unless you enter straight into the living room, then no) and then wood floors for the rest of the space. You can Also have tile in the kitchen area. It depends on the actual space, and somewhat where you live. Florida residents often have tiles in their homes, while people who live in cold climates generally don't.

If you found it at Globus (excellent company BTW) then you will purchase from Globus. The cork dealers keep their colour line-ups a little different. In your situation, you can use a floating floor to save some money...but the glue down tile (which is a Globus specialty) is the way to go. A properly installed glue down cork tile WILL COST the same amount as a STONE or HIGH-END tile installation. The TOTAL cost of the job will be equal. The 'issue' with cork is it is a STRONG yellow. Gold/brass is really it's natural colour. To get RID of those tones and create a gray, you MUST use a deeper gray. As soon as you go LIGHTER you go YELLOW. And I've seen it. It is DISTURBINGLY UGLY....like FUGLY type ugly. The COOL thing about cork, even with HEAVY STAINING is it LIGHTENS. Yes. That strong gold/brass turns BLONDE. As in Lady Gaga blonde! Marilyn Monroe blonde! Gwen Stefani blonde! Now imagine the deeper gray sitting on a very pale wood....it is LIGHTER. Globus is a company that is IMPRESSIVE. If I could afford Globus (I'm in Canada so I would go with Duro Design Cork = same type of product/line/colour options) I would go with Globus. A properly installed Globus cork floor = 150 years of service. Only STONE has that type of durability.
