Should I have gotten this less expensive rug (A) or the higher priced rug (B) for small office?

Comments (16)When I read you wanted to bring this room in the direction of contemporary, I thought it would be impossible, but justerrilyn showed some brilliant possibilities. I also really like the 2nd rug you posted. The one piece of furniture that most keeps it from a possible contemporary vibe is the coffee table. I'd either replace it or I'd be painting those legs some wild color to make it a more eclectic look. Add some brightly colored, contrasting pillows to the upholstered pieces. Comments (10)I think the problem with the white rug idea is that the stone and the sofa are warm cream colors and the white will not complement them as well as some other colors. That grasscloth is gorgeous and I wouldn't let anyone discourage you from using it. I think the blue rug you pictured might work but it's very similar to what you have and is a very strong pattern that will be kind of bossy with the rest of your choices. Would you consider a rug with blue in a softer pattern? Maybe something like this to go with the grasscloth? It's difficult to find one that would go with the grasscloth that doesn't clash with the fireplace wall and art as they are now, but you get the idea. Maybe someone with photoshop skills can put your grasscloth on the wall with your rug choices. I don't think any of these are "the one" but just to give you some visuals. I'd say if you go for leopard, might as well go for a more obvious animal print.

I have this one in my living room and I love it!! I ordered and returned several different rugs (including the cowhide one dyed to look like a cheetah skin) before finally finding this one...I love the subtle print and the "worn" looking areas. Good luck!
