I need help designing my bathroom!
Comments (27)Our such great ideas guys! Stacey your work is amazing. It's easy to see you have a lot of experience with this type of thing in addition to being very creative! You had so many great ideas I wish you had numbered them so I could tell you which ones I liked :) I do love the one with the closet access from the bedroom. That is such a neat idea. The one that you came up with in the last post and the one that is almost exactly what Cori described really sounds like a grand option. It opens up the space so much and like everyone is saying, a beautiful bathroom space is probably more valuable sq. footage than an office. I do prefer having the WC in it's own room. It really makes the bathroom seem much more clean and tidy, in addition to making the closet in the bathroom seem more welcoming. Maybe we can do a little pocket door into the closet to provide some space. To answer some questions, the vertical wall on the left goes to the interior of the house, as do all walls except for the wall wear the window is. I agree if the closet was slightly soffetted it could allow for high shelving. We could keep a few items that our out of season there and it could potentially look as if it was done like that on purpose. I really like the third picture you posted too. It is a really nice layout with a nice size closet and a semi-private WC. But the last one is definitely the most attractive! I will certainly have to think on that one and let you know! Thanks again to everyone! Especially Stacey!...See MoreNeed help with small bathroom design
Comments (0)HELP!! I am looking for suggestions on how I can remodel my small bathroom because I am having trouble with the design. There are so many great options to choose from but I’m not so sure how to go about it because my bathroom is very small and I would like to make it look bigger. The thought had occurred to me to go with a white off black design but I am looking for something more edgier and less expensive. My preferences are that I would like to add in a stand in shower and keep the vanity that I have. Here is a photo of my bathroom as well as a couple of options that I was choosing from......See MoreNeed help in basement design-placement of LED lights, bathroom design
Comments (5)You may have already thought about this, but dimmer switches will make whatever lighting scheme you decide on more flexible. Also, think about where furniture will be before placing the recessed lighting. 18 months ago we moved into a 25 year old house that had a finished basement (also with some windows, like yours). While they at least had dimmers on the recessed lighting, the placement of some of the cans was puzzling, even considering where they had their furniture when we saw the house before purchasing (the previous owners did the basement fit-out). I like the one room that has cans in the four corners and a central fixture which is a semi-flush 3-light (the cans are placed about two feet from the walls). The result is that the room is lit very evenly without the use of any table or floor lamps. I use the room for an office so I have a desk lamp for task lighting. Even if you don't use the other part of your basement, if you finish it so it could be used for a family room it will be good for your resale value. The next owners may want to put their teenagers down there with a big television. :-) I love the idea of the full bathroom. That is something I don't have in mine....See MoreI need help with my bathroom design I love open concept.
Comments (3)I think you will need to provide a layout including measurements to have any kind of meaningful input. That said, I would get rid of the tub because that is a terrible shower. My preference would be to have a great shower versus a tub and a cramped shower. When I remodeled I got rid of my tub/shower and replaced it with a beautiful functional walk in shower. If you must have a tub at least consider a tub/shower because it is far more comfortable to use than a small stall shower like you have. I prefered using my tub/shower combination to the stall shower in my guest bath which I used for a few weeks after an operation limited mobility. I doubt whether you have enough space to have a comfortable enclosure for the toilet but you might be able to move in to where the shower is. Depending on your budget and what lies below the floor it is theoretically possible. Whatever you do get a skirted toilet so those unattractive traps aren't showing on the side. Skirted toilets are sleeker looking and easier to get clean....See MoreLynne
