Smm, we could suggest one of the tiles you have but we're looking on a computer monitor and each computer monitor shows colors differently. So what might look perfect on my computer would look horrible in real life.

If you can't decide, do you have a friend or family member with a good sense of color who could help you out?

I have a pretty good sense of color. I was just checking for suggestions from others with similar color scheme as mine what might have worked. To be honest, I'm just tired so a few suggestions I can check out in my space would be very helpful. I'll ultimately pick the color that works right in person.

I would do one of the rectangular choices, not the wave pattern.

I do like the color in the wavy one but they have classic 3 x6 shape. I wasn't planning on the wavy shape.

I like that crumbly grey one--the dark one. But for an entire wall it might be too dark. Have you considered blending a few similar colors?

I don't like stone here at all I think you're on the right track with glazed ceramic tile!

I know I should wait until everything is in. I was thinking I would like something with color variation in a warm vs cool tone. The tile on the board with wave pattern comes in a subway 3 x 6, has trim pieces and is a fraction of the cost of Fireclay. I'm sure once cabinets and fixtures are in, and the wood is in, it'll be easier. Right now the lighting from the windows just throws shadows everywhere.

You have plenty of room to establish patterns or use shaped tile. I love Star and Cross. Oldbat2be has Fireclay Star and Cross in Mica (discontinued) in her pantry area. She's also really nice if you want to reach out to her. Check out her reveal.

Yes I've been following your advice on her thread too. That's where I discovered the star and cross. I'm anxiously waiting for them to trim out the windows so I can decide on tile!

Do you think a pattern in the glazed crackle finishes would be too busy? That's where I'm struggling!

That is going to be one spectacular kitchen when done! Will any uppers or open shelving be going up on that wall? If not, I'd be afraid of anything wavy or too busy, because that will be a big wall of tile and lots of grout lines depending on what you choose. I vote for third tile to the right, 4th photo down. That crackly gray could be gorgeous in contrast to the white cabs and counters.

Just wall hood to ceiling with crown, window trim and sconces above window. Won't be much wall left afterwards :)

I just saved a photo of a tile layout I'm thinking about for our bath remodel:

not the accent color tile, but using a row of square tile alternating with a row of smaller subway. I think it's interesting without being overwhelming.

Shaped tiles add visual complexity in a very subtle way if the tile is all one color. You can keep the grout tone-on-tone as well. It can be as busy (below) or placid as you want it to be. Ob2be used a silver grout but she could have used an off white as well. The contrast helps to emphasize the shape. Have you looked at other Star and Cross images? Do you like them?

I love all one color and maybe a tad darker grout. But I don't know if it works as well with the glazed crackles. Maybe better in a tile with low color variation

Eam and others, what do you think about using tile like enzaenza's? I think I was drawn to the variation in the marble tile photo I posted but don't want marble. How about this? The only thing I am hesitant about is the bumps on it.

SMM, that looks very similar to the Clé tile I love that Eam really does not. I do love the variation in tone.

I'll check it out thanks! I should note, we spent quite a bit of money adding those two Windows along back wall as we have gorgeous mountain views back there. So I definitely don't want something too distracting. Maybe a white tile with warm color variation is the solution. Is there such a thing?

Thanks! I think I will wait. I've requested some samples from Fireclay and will have contractor put everything else in. And then decide. Even if it means cleaning up tile dust at a later point :)

I remember enzaenza's bs very well. It was a labor of love. That is glass tile by Fireclay Tile in Hydrangea, in which 60% of the tiles have a glossy finish and 40% of them are matte. I adore that effect. What do you mean by bumps?

I know you are still searching. What is your tile budget in $/sf?

Eam I just meant that the tiles are not flat but rather raised making them appear bumpy when installed.

Budget im thinking $35/sq ft. Willing to go a bit above but nothing crazy like $200/sq ft!

I should mention, it would be nice to get a similar look for less though if we find a good contender!
