I have a bathroom in the kitchen area also and we moved stuff so it wasn't so apparent but anything you can do to dampen the noise would help. Since you have a bump out with the bath can you wrap cabinets around it? I have a bump out in my small kitchen and we wrapped a fridge, ovens and broom closet around it. Behind the ovens is a deep closet and since we also have an older home, you know what a big deal this is. You could have a wall of pantry on the long bath exterior wall and have a shallow closet on the short end, bringing it even with the door jam to the DR. Or vice versa. You could still keep an entry to the exterior in the kitchen and on your main kitchen wall just run the cabinets to the end (on the right), with no corner cabs to lose space with. If you are afraid the cabinets would stick out too much you can make them shallow. On the other side of the table in the picture I have doors that mimic the side you see but are 4'wide and 1' deep pantry cabinets. They are very efficient. The shallow depth eliminates the need for drawers of rollouts and everything is accessible. Below is an idea of how ours wraps around.

Regarding layout - as others have said, what's best will depend on your home's layout, the Kitchen's location with regards to the rest of the house and the outside, and the Kitchen's measurements. I like both a "U" (what I have now and love!) and an "L" with an island, depending on the situation. I will say that ideally I would have: Prep Zone either: Directly across from the range/cooktop with a prep sink (not cleanup sink) and at least 42" of workspace -or- Next to the range/cooktop along the same counter run with 42" to 48" of workspace b/w them Actually, I think I'd like both so more than one person can work in the Kitchen at one time!! Cleanup Zone and dish storage completelyseparate from both the Prep and Cooking Zones. The Prep Zone in the best location (view, visitors, etc.) b/c the vast majority of time in the Kitchen is spent prepping. No zone-crossing - meaning you don't have to cross through other zones when going to/from your work zone and the refrigerator or pantry. For example, I would rather not have to cross through the Cleanup Zone (and dodging an open DW door) to go to/from the refrigerator or pantry and the Prep and Cooking Zones. (Remember, this is what I consider "ideal".) A protected Cooking Zone, and to some extent, Prep Zone. Protected meaning these zones are protected from non-Kitchen traffic as well as from non-cooking and non-prepping Kitchen work. Two-bin trash pullout (trash + recycling) next to the prep sink and near the range/cooktop. If room, a trash pullout (one or two bin) next to the cleanup sink; if no room, then under the cleanup sink. Far more trash and recyclables are generated while prepping and cooking than cleaning up, and for a much longer extended period of time. [BTW...the biggest regret in my Kitchen is that I put the trash pullout in the Cleanup Zone, not the Prep Zone. I didn't realize how much more it's used when prepping and cooking until I started using my new Kitchen! Now, I have to traipse across a 6' aisle to get to the trash pullout from my Prep and Cooking Zones - often dripping all the way!] Refrigerator next to the Prep and Cooking Zones but on the periphery so outsiders can get a snack, get condiments for the dinner table, or put away groceries without getting in the way of someone prepping and/or cooking. MW also on the periphery but next to the Prep and Cooking Zones for similar reasons. For a MW, I would prefer either a drawer (which I have now and love) or in an alcove a bit above counter height with landing space for the MW next to it on the right side (the side that doesn't have a hinge). At least one wall oven that's installed so the door opens above my knees. . [Remember, this is my ideal, not necessarily anyone else's!]

I have owned dozens of rental properties. I've been installing IKEA kitchen cabinets in the kitchens and bathrooms of rental properties for more than 20 years now. I've installed a total of several hundred cabinets. If you're a landlord, you know that tenants can be very rough on furnishings. I have seen exactly two failures. Both failures were special hinges used on horizontal doors. In both cases, IKEA sent replacement hinges at no cost via FedEx. Many folks poke fun of IKEA cabinets, but those are always people who have never actually inspected one. They're quite sturdy and cost-effective. And IKEA uses quality Blum hinges which are much better than typical cabinet hinges. Side note: IKEA cabinets used to come from Europe, but the cabinets I installed this week are clearly marked "Made in the United States of America". If you want to customize your cabinet doors, there are several companies that manufacture cabinet doors that are exact fits to IKEA cabinets. I have seen some high-end remodels done this way.

Not offended at all, just letting the group sit with it and try to make other things work. I stand by that design as a non-revenue draft. Also was just putting my time elsewhere for a bit while I let this convo carry on and see what came of it. I still think the layout I provided is a solid design. Wasn't a 30" corner it was a 26" in the corner and it wasn't just for looks, it was meant to be an appliance garage along with a 9" unit that has an alcove with lower tray storage and upper door storage I still feel as if 34" counters with a 8" continuation into an alcove is MORE than sufficient for next to the range. I still feel very STRONGLY that the kitchen layout I provided has the most visual balance as well as function...as well as function...as well as function :) Also there was a reason that I didn't meet two countertops at a corner cabinet the way I see it shown in some of these modded photos...very difficult to pull off in the field and to me doesn't serve form or function, so we are all at an impasse!. I will take one last go at it though, regardless of what you have in that corner, one thing should be abundantly clear...no one that I know amidst all of my design peers or clients will ever prep in a corner. Which means, if we are talking purely about function, storage is a better option than counter space. I thought it was obvious but there has been so much back and forth on it. This is someone else's version: Notice is is a 27" unit that meets the corner and then passed the corner has 15" of space This is the one I proposed Notice that the one I propose actually has more counter space before the corner on the right side for bringing prep over. 33" plus a filler plus the alcove. Mind you that my own kitchen is closer to the other design and I have no problem whatsoever cooking meals with a range so tight to a corner, and prepping at the peninsula doesn't bother me, and you would be hard-pressed to get that range wall to have a decent prep area, so I would count it out for that function entirely, which, really, shouldn't be that big of a deal. I mentioned it earlier but that is a chase above the cabinets intended to house ducting for the hood. No need for those bulky hard to reach uppers.
