I used to think they all had to be the same color but age has mellowed me out. Trying to keep it all the same is boring and self limiting I now do what I want on the inside and ignore the view from the outside and anyone who wants to turn thier nose up at my curtains. One of my daughters has pink and the other one green curtains . Those are currently the only rooms I have with curtains but then again I live in the country and theirs acres between me any any neighbors. Not that any of them have a direct veiw of my home anyway.

Thanks for the suggestions. Definitely like the balloon shade. Still not sure where to put the rod - in the wall above the window trim or inside the window frame like I do my sheer (as does Caroline). You see, I really like a naked window, esp. this tall one. I even hate to see my curtain rod hardware, but need that for the drapery in winter. My Pottery Barn, Alessandra drapes are 108" - still too short. I have an idea, just an idea mind you. What if I made a balloon shade from one of my Alessandra panels? or using both of the panels if I needed more length? The balloon shade could be removed and put back up easily if I chose to do so? or would it have to remain all the time? The panels are pleated at the top tho. I would definitely need a seamstress, I don't sew. I have attached a link to the drape, but my panels are the gold, which is no longer available. I had roller shades in one place that I lived in San Francisco, and they had fringe at the bottom, which added a decorative detail that you could see from outside. You can attach fringe or some other decorative element to the bottom of the shade, and you can even attach it to the back side (if you want) to make it more visible from outside. Or you could replace them with Roman shades.

How about some wood blinds on the sun room windows to control light source. I have that on my sunporch, actually fabric blinds, and they work just perfectly. You could use just three, one over each double set of windows.
