Green backsplash?
Comments (10)Mollie, I ordered my tile from Short Hills Marble & Tile in NJ -- but I have also seen it in Expo. They are individual 3" x 6" tiles (with bullnose for the edges). I used white grout with the green tile -- I sealed it & have had no problems with staining so far. I used the same tile in white in my powder room and used "silverado" grout there. Two of my lights are Jeffersons from Rejuvenation -- the one in the breakfast nook is a Rose City (it hangs down more than the Jeffersons) and the one over the sink is a Skidmore, also from Rejuvenation, with one of their old-fashioned light bulbs. Everything (light fixtures, faucet, hardware) is finished in chrome. I actually had a Jefferson fixture in polished nickel before the renovation & didn't like the way it tarnished. The soapstone is Belvedere from M. Teixeira -- it has green veins & is a harder variety so it stays dark without frequent oiling. caligirl cottage -- thanks for the kind words! My husband had very little interest in all the design choices -- which was just as well since I got to pick what I wanted!...See MoreLooking for floor and fireplace tile ideas.
Comments (20)Personally, I think putting a reno on hold until next spring just means you have even more time to search for and consider the perfect flooring. Pick up samples of creamy cabinet colors, soapstone, marble, etc that you love and visit tile showrooms. Ask the showroom designers for help or just browse. Bring home samples and leave them on the floor in your kitchen space so you can think about them. I think giving yourself lots of time to pick the right materials can make a big difference in helping to limit regrets. This could be a good thing in the end. I'm sorry, but I tend to agree with melissastar that I just don't picture the tile you shared with the materials you have already selected. The materials you've already selected have a largely cool palette of creamy white, black (with a green cast?), and maybe some pale gray. The tile in the picture looks to have a warm tan/yellow hue with bits of gray. And they're quite busy/detailed. Also, the color is a more of a mid-tone where most of the colors in your palette are either very light (white) or very dark (black). So, for me, I have difficulty seeing those tiles corresponding to or harmonizing with the other elements in your pattern. I'm sorry. I am certainly no designer, so I could be wrong. I think it would be helpful to bring all of your materials together in samples to help picture how it will all look in the end....See MoreCaesarstone Raven vs. Silestone Marengo/Arden blue?
Comments (18)Our floors are Provenza Heirloom Collection in London. I love how they look but am less sure how they're going to wear. Already have a few scratches. The knotty, grain-y look is very forgiving but I'm annoyed that it scratches easily. Thanks for the compliments!...See MoreHelp with white and gray paint for cabinets- Pratt & Lambert
Comments (13)@funcolors they did tell me today that they could try to match it. I guess it's hard though since they are using conversion varnish and they don't guarantee an exact match. I can pick one color for them to match and paint me a sample. If I need another paint match they want to charge $85 since they have to buy paint each time. If you had to pick Simply White or White Dove, would you lean towards one over the other with the taj?...See MoreAnglophilia
