Amish Loft Kitchen Cabinets
Comments (14)Apologies to the OP. Once again I brought this matter up only to let others be aware. But as a huge animal supporter do not believe in or would ever support the horrible conditions that these puppy mills have their dogs live in to make them money. I would rather starve, they are making money off these poor dogs backs, no excuses ever. We all have to make a living but perhaps some of the Amish need to rethink the ethical way to do this. We all have money problems in this economy. To me it's similar to a pimp, plain and simple. Just because the economy is bad it's not ethical to run puppy mills. I am one of those that feel if someone is doing something wrong we need to speak up period. Maybe my point of view may not be favored here but saving a life or two compared to saving money on my cabinets is more important in my books. Who speaks for the dogs? More need to be aware tell the Amish..... That we will buy from you only when you stop supporting and running mills. Yes, buying their cabinets may help with them with their income but to make more of a difference for the sake of the poor dogs in long run a huge cut of their income would make more of an impact and make them rethink their puppy mills....See MoreAmish built cabinets
Comments (28)My contact at Ayr was also Ken, same as salviastreet's. ooooh, I can't wait to see your kitchen, please share pics as it's going in :) Ken was phenomenal!! He never said no to anything I asked. My kitchen is 100% custom and was designed down to the 1/8". I have 30" deep cabinets with full depth drawers on two sides, not one single filler or wasted inch of space. I have a pull out cutting board, a spring loaded cutting board, toekick drawers, pullout pantry, bread drawer, a trash can that pulls out on both sides of the peninsula and the list goes on - you name it, Ken and his guys made it happen. When we had problems with our built in fridge and freezer units, Ken came through with replacing the panels with completely new ones to fit the different brand units. When the electricians butchered my cabinets, Ken got them fixed so you would never know. The guy is a genius and super nice to boot. Heck I would have been frustrated with me and he never was (or if he was, and actually he must have been LOL, he absolutely never once let on to me.) THANK YOU KEN!! SO that's my recommendation and I am sticking by it!...See MoreAmish Cabinets
Comments (56)If you are in this area also check out www.kustomkabinetry.com. I used them and the experience was phenomenal. They are Mennonite and work with an Amish builder that does the doors. I have solid cherry, all totally custom. They use computer software to help with planning and do the install. Any pictures I showed them they made it happen. Definitely not the deal déjà has, but still cheaper than the box stores with MUCH better service and quality. I contacted Mr. Yoder and he was up to a year waiting list and we were not comfortable doing so much of the work on our end, and only communicating by mail. Amazing deal if you can make it work. Good luck!...See MoreTalk me off the ledge...I hate my backsplash
Comments (49)I just want you to know that I'm still holding my breath. It took forever, well, three days, for the tile guy to finish with all the tile. Grouting is today. Amy, I will do pictures soon. Oh, yes, I can't wait. In fact I would have done some pre-grout photos this morning, but the lovely SF fog is back. Without lights, the kitchen looks really dull and dreary. I'm afraid the photos will just be a dark blur. I've got to say that I've learned so much from this remodel. I went into it ultra-prepared. I had all my materials. I had even hired a designer to give the final okay on everything. He was incredibly expensive, but I thought with something this new, I needed someone to make sure I was making all the right decisions. Well, once those horrible counters (yup, the designer okayed those) had to be scrapped (as well as the backsplash tile purchased to go with those, as well as all the paint colors, as well as the design concept which is now at the 11th hour having my cabinet maker do new uppers and bookshelves in wenge), I learned that kitchen remodeling is not for the faint of heart. The best decision I made was to hire a fabulous contractor. If I had it to do all over again, I probably would have skipped the designer (it cost me thousands just to have someone say okay to everything I considered). I found GW rather late in the process. I just found Houzz last week! I would have spent more time on both sites. You see, I have stepped away from the ledge. I'll post pics of the backsplash tomorrow...I hope. And I hope it is truly fabulous and perfect. And if it is not, I plan on putting things on the counter so no one will notice. Yes, I'm starting to feel that this all should work out....See Morecpartist
