Witch hoze is it?

If it is the drainhoze dont worry about it, just take care of the water after each load and you will be fine until you can get it replaced. If it is the mains water then I would shut of the water to the dishwasher and not use it until the hoze have been replaced.

2 christmases in a row I have had Miele out to replace my drainhoze but I had mice eating holes in it.

Thanks! It's still leaking but now into a plastic container. Don't think I will use the dishwasher as it is leaking without and I don't want any pressure on the hose.

If it's the hose that plumbs back into your disposal you can use it. If it's the supply line, which will be a smaller diameter, I'd go beyond not using it. I'd turn the water off at the valve where that hose intersects your undersink source. Otherwise it's always under pressure and could rupture at any time.

But hey it's Xmas. Family together cleaning up together. Nothing bad about that.

It appears to be the supply line hose which is why it's
likely still leaking. Though not leaking very heavily -- the sheet of plastic funnels the water into the plastic dish.

Will that black

The plumber
didn't mention switching that off but it looks like the levers in my
basement we use to cut off water supply to the well filter. Expect that might stop the dripping?

I find the picture to be difficult to interpret; so I suggest the following. Starting at the bad hose, and particularly at that lump which is a solenoid valve, follow the house plumbing toward your water supply source. Whatever valve handle is next in line needs to be shut off. Off is transverse to the valve body.

If this hose is like my Optima hose, it is double (two concentric hoses with some wires). The outer is intended to be the first defense against leaks from the inner, and detection of water in that hose is supposed to cause a code in the dishwasher display. Your dishwasher may predate that design; I don't know about earlier models.

For the Optima, that hose is expensive.

My dw is an 858 incognito from 2003.

I did exactly as you said -- I believe the lever handle has now turned off the water supply to the hose. I'm about to drain the dish so I can tell later if it has continued to somehow leak.

It's only had the filter basket replaced. Hard to complain about any costs since it's been outstanding. This is the first service call actually.

Is it necessary to replace with a Miele brand hose or will any one my plumber gets do?

The correct and simplest approach is to replace it with the Miele part. I can imagine re-engineering the connection with different hose materials and solenoid, but that would be a real exercise, best left to engineers or techs or skilled handymen with a lot of spare time on their hands. At any hourly rate that these "re-inventors" might reasonably believe that they are worth, the Miele hose repair will likely be lower cost.

The reason for this is that Miele put the water valve at the hose bib end of the hose and added an outer hose that in my Optima connects to a water catching pan at the base of the unit where the leak sensor is. I think that there are a few issues with just bypassing all of this with a simple (clothes washer style) hose.

A plumber may be overkill (and over priced). You'll have to get the hose from Miele or the appliance dealer (who might stock it). An appliance guy should be able to replace it, depending on what's going on at the back of the washer. My cheap KA is simply a hose clamp. The Miele might be a bit more involved due to the double hose and wiring.

Do as you said and drain the dishwasher and recheck if it is that hoze.

I am sorry to tell you that that part the watersuply hoze is very expencive but as you said , first fix and I think it is worth it to.
